The amount of people who get into these situations to spice things up or to try and save/keep a relationship is baffling, and it almost always blows up in their faces just like they’re told it will.

No matter how hot, cool, sexy, rich, fun, “perfect” and so on a partner is nobody is worth sacrificing your self respect or dignity for, and 9/10 that’s exactly what you’re doing by agreeing to it.

The BDSM community is full of very damaged people, both men and women. Many people get into it for the wrong reasons and were previously abused, have low self esteem, or other traumas. There are people like you who have healthy relationships and just want to bring spice to it, but most people who I'd guess are on those subs are not in that situation. Someone who makes being a dom or sub their entire identity is likely someone who doesn't have an otherwise well rounded life, support systems, or other healthy habits.

But ultimately, don't worry about things you can't control. Perhaps reading books or articles would better meet your needs if a sub like that is becoming frustrating.

That's being a doormat. I have had D/s relationships outside of the bedroom. It is a 24/7 thing for me. I'm submissive, but I still have standards. One of those standards is not standing for a poly relationship. You're still supposed to maintain boundaries, which is something these women as well as the men who manipulate them into this don't understand.

It doesn't matter what style of relationship you choose. If you are drastically changing who you are to keep someone in your life - they aren't really in your life.

It's a scarcity mindset. I don't advise anyone to stay in a relationship because they fear what life would look like without that person. We see woman after woman do everything to keep the wrong man. And will usually convince herself if she just "wears dresses" or "agrees to poly" or whatever... that their ultimate happiness with this person will be unlocked. When instead she should be letting this guy move out of the way so she can focus on finding the right guy for her.

I am active in a few subreddits for sexually submissive women because I enjoy d/s sex and Reddit is a safe place to learn new things and share new ideas and experiences. I am in a committed monogamous relationship with my partner who loves and respects me.

When I go on these subs for new ideas for things to implement into our sex lives or just to read what other women are experiencing, I am dumbfounded by the amount of women who are being coerced into polyamory situations with their doms and just go on Reddit to bitch and moan about it rather than speak with their partners and put their fucking foot down. I know it’s not easy to stand up for yourself but if you can show and give your body to a man the absolute fucking least you can do is expect him to respect you. Why the fuck would you lay with a man and be vulnerable with him and show him something the world doesn’t get to see just for him to spit on your vulnerability and walk all over you.

Yes, I blame the men but I also blame the women who would rather shrivel into this confused submission than find the courage to speak up for themselves.

I am so frustrated with seeing “my dom took a second sub :(“ bullshit when these women have the autonomy to speak out with their discontentment. They just choose not to and let these men run their lives. They confuse bedroom dynamics with irl relationship dynamics and just mope around when lines are crossed rather than actually count how these men have wronged them. They would rather risk their physical and emotional health than speak up for themselves and I don’t understand it.

I am not attempting to bash the nature of poly relationships. I will admit I am not a fan of them and think they do much more harm than any good but hey that’s just me.

I’m just frustrated with the amount of women on these subreddits that walk into these poly relationships just for the approval of a man and then complain and get jealous when their men actually take multiple partners. You made your bed! Lay in it!

Well, yeah, actually. As someone who enjoys D/s from the Dom perspective, I never hide who I am. Of course it’s easier to run more than one sub if they are bisexual.

Also, the Dom in those situations may not be doing enough comfort for his initial sub. Women are generally afraid of being replaced, because, in the Bad Old Days of the Sabertooth Tiger, that could mean death for her and her offspring. Typically, if you explain to a sub that a woman who enthusiastically does threeways with you as far less likely to be replaced, they get over it pretty quickly.
