In my case it was twelve days. She signed on 4/1 and I was served on 4/12. The holiday might have some influence, I'm not sure if process servers get holidays.

I think mine was like 14 days, could be this week or maybe next because of holiday.

It depends on the Sheriff or process server's schedule. That being said, service is just a means to effect appearance in court, it isn't required if both parties simply agree. For instance, I know my ex-wife had a lawyer, I filed and once it was stamped, I told ex and my lawyer e-mailed her lawyer who agreed to accept email service to avoid the impact of a cop showing up in a squad car handing my ex papers in front of the kids.

Once I was sued by a politician for defamation because I asked to see his budget. He filed 5pm (to ruin weekend). I filed my notice of appearance 5:15pm and then emailed lawyer, (and got copy of the complaint from clerk). I had my response ready in the morning before he even got in. Was an awesome little F-you.

Point is, service isn't required if everyone simply agrees and files a notice of appearance.
