Uh obstetrics and gynecology is literally a mandated rotation and a core subject in school. Urology is usually a flyby subject tied in with other subjects that also relate to a broad topic. I don’t ever recall a blatant male only subject. Especially one that makes up like 13% of my entire boards exam 🤷‍♂️ I probably know significantly more on female reproductive disorders than any male disorders lmao. Wtf is medical misogyny cuz that shit is made up. Men only go to the emergency department only if there is something extremely wrong ie severe pain, blatant wound, approaching death. Trust me. Dudes just try to tough shit out and end up dead

My ED preceptor once told me “if you see a middle aged white dude in the ED something is wrong”. Damn now that I’m typing this out. I’ve actually seen a lot of young dudes dying cause they come in too late (my metric of young is like under 65).

And even if you die early, it’s men’s fault for building that system that caused you to die early. And you can’t be proud of building civilization either, because that’s so heckin chauvinistic and uncool (unlike our fixation on historical female figures). You must feel shame for EVERYTHING, while we celebrate ✨women’s firsts✨. Like: being the first black/asian (depends on the moon cycle, gravitational oscillations, etc.) woman candidate to lose against an orange candidate in US prez election. Because nothing is more empowering than infantilizing the beneficiaries of our ideology through the bigotry of low expectations 😊

Oh yeah and if a female doctor sucks, then she is MISOGYNISTIC and patriarchy is still at blame here, lol. Even though she “built” that patient interaction even more closely than men built the world (allegedly). Just something to think about while pondering over the gender ratio in healthcare, education, etc.

The big irony is that they lay their argument down as it being another cause of the patriarchy. They use language like:

Doctors dismiss women's pain (ironically women doctors also treat women and also dismiss their pain)
Scientific studies only focuses on the male gender (I hope there are no scientific studies on male period pain)

The answer surely is for women to find a women doctor. If you get the same treatment there as you did with the man then cross misogyny off your list of grievances.

I do think that this is a real and unfair thing that women go through but men die sooner than women and less money is spent on our healthcare.

So their position here is literally that doctors look at a woman with a medical condition and went "Well she is a woman, and women are inferior to men, so I guess we won't treat her."

This is something they are seriously suggesting on the BBC. I'm glad I canceled my licence fee.

Tell me, have they ever attempted to prove that the waitinglist and competency issues are not effecting men?

Look at how this issue is framed on neurophens website and then go and read what their own report actually says.

The website says "1 in 2" feel like they have had their pain dismissed "because of their gender."

Okay. They feel that but what do your own numbers say?

81% of women between the ages of 18-24 feel they have had their pain dismissed compared to 73% of men.

56% of women over the age of 45 feel they have had their pain dismissed compared to 49% of men.

So the gendered difference here is 8-6%. And that's not accounting for differences in pain tolerance, differences in willingness to complain about pain or the different rates at whitch these two groups even visit the doctor in the first place.

So who the fuck cares what 1 in 2 women FEEL. We have the actual data, and the differences are marginal at best.

The resources are there to treat depression, it’s up to the men to seek them, and be encouraged to seek them.

Women can’t help periods, let alone the magnitude of reproductive related issues, we need the resources to be there.
