I 26M cold approached a 39F and the interaction went pretty well. She called me confident and charming and was asking questions. She loved the compliments I gave her.

When I asked for her number she said she can't but she can take down mine and when I asked why she first said "it's not time yet" and when I tired again she joked "stranger danger" and that got me off guard and she said "just kidding" but it was definitely out of pity.

I gave her my number and she said "Give me yours, I'll surprise you". I joked saying let's shake on that and we shook hands and I left.
