Hey everyone, I'm wondering if I'm being put through some kind of test. Here's the conversation I had with a friend (her messages are labeled "B"):

Me: Do you ever go to Erasmus parties? B: What are those? Me: Parties with people who are on Erasmus exchange, you get to speak different languages! B: Oh. No, never done that haha Me: Ah, okay... they're pretty interesting B: I'm terrible at socializing in Italian, let alone in another language haha Me: Well then, I guess it's not your thing! B: The "right" answer would have been: "No way, you're great at socializing!" But I'll accept your response anyway haha

Now I'm stuck. Should I have played along and complimented her instead of dismissing it? Was this a test? If so, what would be a better response, and how should I navigate this situation?
