It shouldn't come across as surprising that here in India, even an "ineligible" man become eligible to marry as soon as he gets a job. I'm almost close to getting one, and I've explained to my parents I don't wish to marry due to trust issues, I want to keep my money to myself and also due to poor laws in the country that do absolutely nothing to save husbands when the perps are their wives. My mom in particular is now very much in agreement with me and dad supports my decision too, but my other relatives can't stop bothering me with these marriage-related questions. I am sure they won't understand my reasons due to which I don't explain too much, but even my parents are constantly asked about my marriage by their senior citizen friends. Sometimes they almost render me speechless when they start lecturing me on the importance of marriage. Like I get it, I once wanted a wife and kids but with time found it too risky and don't wanna do it anymore, and I definitely don't want people asking me questions about this without any misunderstandings popping up.

Any suggestions on how I should respond in such situations?
