This movie confused me. The point in the end was that the Barbies were happier when there wasn't a patriarchy or a matriarchy, which, okay. But when the patriarchy happened, the Barbies seemed pretty happy. It was only when that other woman came in and started yelling about things that they suddenly decided they didn't like the Kens running things. I feel like the message ended up being that patriarchy is good. Did I miss something?

Black Christmas is a pretty misandristic movie. There was a scene in which a guy who is one of the girls’ boyfriends got angry and said, “Not all men are rapists.”. The girls including his girlfriend got mad at him and kicked him out of the house they were at. Once he came back feeling pressured to apologize, he got killed by one of the killers who were fraternity members. That scene made me angry inside when I watched it around Thanksgiving.

No. It depicts some sexist prejudices against men, but other than that, nothing really misandristic. It's not the misandrist film they're trying to sell us.

My issue with this movie isn’t so much about messaging, it’s the fact that it wasn’t centered around Barbie.

Think about the kids who were excited about this movie just to watch it and leave with an existential crisis.

Its anti-'toxic masculinity' message was so blatant it felt like parody. I'll proudly admit I love the film. It was more a Ken film anyway than a Barbie one despite the screentime for either.

How I took it was that the Barbies reflect men, and the Kens reflect women.

I’m not saying that’s how it is, but I viewed it as one of those “flip the genders” things that help you see things from a different perspective, though, I doubt that was the intentions behind it, sadly.

It was disgusting to see the amount of women who sung praises for the Barbies(which acted how they claim men act), and wished they could be a Barbie in Barbie land, basically, the women who did that, they’re a-o-k with oppression, and the only reason they hate misogyny is cause they are the victims, but they have no trouble being the perpetrators.
