I want to preface this post by saying that I know plenty of happily married people. I do think there are good women out there. That said, I want to share the worst "assraped in divorce court stories" I have. Be careful who you marry!

  1. My uncle - this story will make you grind your teeth in rage. It's basically our family shame.

He was an immigrant from Asia, worked his way up from bus boy. Went to college but ended up the stereotypical route of opening a restaurant, then bought strip malls, invested wisely, etc. Very busy savvy. Ended up with ~10 million net worth by his 40s. His bane: pretty white women. His parents always told him to marry a nice asian girl, but he became very americanized and preferred white women. He ended up marrying a former beauty contestant who worked as a bartender (late 20s) at one of his restaurants. She was gold digger to the extreme. My grandparents would constantly complain about her to my parents. Grandma would even cry over some of the issues.

She had 3 kids with him. Then she ended up fucking her personal trainer. He found out and went apeshit. He's used to being the boss. He never beat her. Anyway she filed for divorce, claimed that he beat her and their kids. She successfully brainwashed 2 of them to testify against him in court. One of them (the oldest one) testified on his behalf. Anyway on the final court days, he thought this was all bullshit, he had endured months of court and hearings. He felt betrayed, couldn't deal with all the lies and headache, and...fucking went to Asia to visit some old friends and complain.

WHAT? Biggest mistake ever. Because he didn't show up for the last few court hearings, the judge awarded her EVERYTHING. He went from 8 figures to penniless. She got it all. The oldest child (daughter) left her mom and went to live with the grandparents.

The last time I saw my uncle was at my brother's wedding. He looked like a broken man. Before that was almost 20 years ago. It was a complete 180 from the kind of guy I remembered he was when I was a kid. He lives in Asia now in his old hometown, because the little money he has left goes further there (he had a little savings left in the bank there, which the US courts didn't touch - it's basically low 5 figures US dollars. He had been using it over the years to send money to other family members including his grandparents.). He couldn't afford the plane ticket back to the states, but my brother really wanted him there, so he paid for the plane ticket.

  1. One of my former bosses

She is a very attractive, intelligent, wonderful person. She is a high paid professional (income over 400k/yr). Unfortunately, her mistake was falling in love with and marrying an alpha-type douchebag in college.

He cheated on her constantly. She finally found out, filed for divorce, and got custody of the 2 kids. I actually met her husband at a company party...and he was openly hitting on young women there, including my date (we were 20 yo at the time...he was almost 40)! I have no idea how he pulled it off, but he got alimony of 1/3 of her income. This is in a VERY LIBERAL state (NY). He was a complete douche from what I could tell. He didn't have a job after college, basically mooched off her since college.

I feel very sorry for her. She's had a few unsuccessful relationships after this and is in her mid 50s now. She wants to remarry but I don't think she can now. So yes, women get screwed in divorce cases too.

  1. The "Hulk" physician.

This one is almost comically bad. I worked with an ICU doctor who was cheating on his wife with one of the ICU nurses. We called this guy the "Hulk" because he was a huge body builder type, but was also brilliant. He had a terrible temper though and looked like he could annihilate your face with one delt-smash. Basically everyone was scared of him.

One day during ICU rounds, a woman comes in to the ICU, approaches Hulk and starts screaming obscenities. It became very obvious that this was his wife, and she had found evidence of his cheating. The worse part was, the nurse who he was cheating with, was there. The wife bitchslapped the young nurse and she ran away crying. Then she proceeded to bitchslap, stomp, and basically emasculate Hulk.

I would have laughed really hard if this wasn't happening in the middle of the ICU. He just kept apologizing and begging her to go to a private place (there were patients and patients' family right there!!!). I actually stepped in and said "ma'am there's a private family room" She cut me off "FUCK OFF JACKIE CHAN" I was afraid I'd get bitchslapped. The head nurse called security, who dragged her off kicking and screaming.

Yeah Hulk called another attending to cover for the rest of the week. I've never seen an alpha-type man emasculated so hard in my entire life. Hulk is now paying 1/2 his salary to her, for being a dumbass and cheating on her.

  1. The ex-girlfriend's dad

Dated a girl who grew up with her single mom. Turns out her dad was a neurosurgeon. Mom had been cheating on him with her personal trainer. SHE filed for divorce. She gets 1/2 his salary. Yeah he's a spine surgeon in a suburb so he's pulling in 7 figures after years of sacrifice and hard work...she gets half of it. She's been fucking her mooch boyfriend since then. She doesn't plan to remarry because then she would stop getting alimony.

He paid for their daughter's college tuition and grad school tuition because the mother wouldn't. She actually never told me this story (I found out from one of her gossipy childhood friends). I thought she was a good one, till I mentioned this to her. She started vehemently defending her mom's behavior and actions when I said what her mom did was horrible and gold digger-ish. Yeah...we broke up over this.

Cliffs: Be careful who you marry. Beware your SO's personal trainer. Divorce will own everyone, even the Hulk is powerless to it.
