Young women under the age of 30 are already earning as much or more than men (>=100%) in the two most populus metropolitan areas in the United States. Earning as much, more, or nearly as much (90-100%) in most of other populus metropolitan areas.

Not a shocker.

Education is one of the main indicators of higher income:

Grade school was redesigned for girls success. Shorter recesses and gym classes, more emphasis on group activities, less emphasis on test taking, and more emphasis on conscientiousness. Male teachers drummed out of the field so boys have no positive male role models, study after study showing bias against boys by female teachers ignored. Extra curricular activities and opportunities earmarked especially for girls through specific ideologically driven programs e.g. "girls in science" etc. We also went through an entire generation in in the 2000s where boys were simply drugged en masse with flippant ADHD diagnoses. Boys drop out rates have gone up and up over time.

For the boys who get through grade school they'll find admissions stacked against them. Women have a significant advantage in the admission process of post secondary schools despite making up the majority (~60%) of the study body. Additionally here are far more grants and scholarships specifically for women than men. Within the school, this trend continues. Bursaries, fellowship, grants, assistantships, and many jobs in and around the school that provide income and additional experience are quietly given exclusively to women. The administration of these schools is growing and mostly female, and a feminist ideology runs through these schools which leads to anti-male policies. The result is more women get to admissions, women are more likely to be admitted, women are more likely to have financial support, women are more likely to be given access to special opportunities and initiatives that can boost their standing. Thus, women make up the majority of those who graduate with degrees. More bachelors, a lot more masters degrees, and even more doctorate degrees. Those degrees lead into higher paying careers and more opportunities.

Income is downstream from these educational shifts. Even younger millennial women have been out earning young men in many urban areas for a while now, and as the results of the education system persist that gap will continue to grow across all segments.

Similar dynamics are present in many corporations and industries. Hiring targets or diversity initiatives often prioritize increasing female representation, with employee resource groups and internal policies designed to address women's specific concerns and advance their careers. In some sectors, gender parity goals for leadership positions can create additional barriers for men, particularly in fields that have historically been male-dominated.

Anther factor to consider is that many women in their thirties deprioritize career. Many do so because they want to start families, but many other women also tend to leave high paying corporate jobs behind for something 'more meaningful' like lower paying non-profit or socially aware jobs. This also skews the income results as people get older, and that's still sold as part of a gender pay-gap oppression narrative even though they are conscious choices made by women with freedom to choose.

These trends continue to evolve. While many policies initially aimed to support girls and "correct historical imbalances" - boy's specific challenges are being overlooked. Boys encounter cultural narratives that often portray them in a negative light, with limited attention given to addressing their unique developmental and educational needs. Without a more balanced approach, these patterns will continue to lead to long-term disadvantages for boys across multiple areas of life.

A "reverse wage gap" or one barely existing anymore, especially amongst the younger, is not that uncommon anymore.

Young women are already outearning young men by around 10% in the United Kingdom for both white collar and blue collar jobs.
In Romania, women's earnings for February 2024 surpassed that for men for the first time.

And as you can see in 2019 already, women are already earning more or as much as men in some of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. It's quite likely this has increased as the share of women amongst college graduates in high paying fields is also steadily increasing.

According to the U.S. BLS in Q1 2025 for full-time workers, in the ages 20 to 24 years, women have median weekly earning 93.4% ($759 to $813) that of their male peers, and for ages 25 to 34 have median weekly earnigs 87.7% ($1,038 to $1,183) that of their male peers.

For Q4 2024, for full time workers aged 16-24, women's median earnings were 90.6% ($721 to $796), whereas for Q3 2023, they were 92.9% ($707 to $761).

This is based on the US. From what I'm aware of, women get advantages in school, the school system is designed better for women where they can sit still. They get advantages in college because they get affirmative action, there are tons of scholarships for women only, they are prioritized during hiring over men. More women are going to college these days than men and it is more than back in the day when the affirmative action was put in place.

If it was a crisis back in the day when more men were going to college than women then why is it not seen as a crisis now when things are reversed? More women are going to college now than men. More women are going compared to the number of men back in the day. The numbers flip flopped. This isn't seen as an issue by the government. It is seen as men failing as a group. They won't get help. When women were attending college less then the government stepped in. The government wont do the same to help me out.

From what I am aware of, if a women starts a businesses then if it's a woman owned business they can pay less in taxes. Based on all of these factors it is no wonder that women are making more than men. Women go to college more than men, they therefore make more, get advantages in hiring, they also don't have as much debt if men decide to get a bachelor's or other advanced degree because they get scholarships. There are some scholarships for men but it is much less than what is given to women.

Men decide that they don't want to take on a bunch of debt for an education. They are blamed because they don't want to go to college. Women go to college more and get more degrees is seen as a good thing and empowering. Men not going to college at anywhere the same rate as women is not an issue in these people's eyes.

If women want to date men who make more money than they do then how will that work when women are the ones getting the majority of the degrees and high paying jobs? Women would be taking the high paying jobs from men so then average men's income would decrease and they would be less desirable as a result. If women take the high earning jobs then men would not be able to get them and women wouldn't date men who make less than they do.

They would probably only go for the top men, and ignore the blue collar workers. I think that kind of thing is already going on. I have seen many things about "economically unattractive men" where men don't make enough money for a women because the men aren't making $200k or whatever that particular income standard is for a specific woman.
