Her only problem is that her son is now mature enough to understand the kind of person she is. She is a bad person and she knows that her son has figured her out; yet her main concern is her own emotional discomfort with knowing that she can’t emotionally manipulate him or mask her own hatred for him as effectively anymore.

She’s always hated him and he sees it now.

The son is the innocent and the tragic figure in this story.

He lost his primary caregiver (his grandfather) just last year. He is likely grieving and in a vulnerable state.
He is now in a new living situation (presumably) with a mother he hasn't lived with for most of his life.
Instead of finding a safe and loving maternal bond, he is being met with a parent who projects her hatred of his entire gender onto him. She admits she thinks of him as "stupid, slow, disgusting."

This is incredibly damaging for a teenage boy. He is being judged and disliked by his own mother for something he cannot control: his gender. This has the potential to cause severe, long-lasting damage to his self-esteem, his ability to form healthy relationships, and his own identity as a man.

My father was a good man. And he is a nice kid, he's not some incel kid at all. He just has some typical masculine traits that really get on my nerves sometimes.

But his mother, on the other hand...

Remember what the traits are for her: "I think they're stupid, slow, disgusting. I think they stink and do everything wrong all the time." She’s not even talking about the actual bad stereotypes people associate with men, like being violent, aggressive, and rude. Because he's probably not... he's just a fucking teenager. Jeez. Why tf does this post have so many upvotes. Only posts of women saying the most degrading, sexist shit I've ever seen about men gets this many. I've seen similar posts with different contexts and there's usually always more comments than upvotes because people genuinely want to offers advice and shut them down. I can guarantee a lot of those comments are telling her she's valid.

It likely comes from my own lack of experiences, but I never understood how one can look at people trough lens of their gender soo much , especially people close to us , I hope she got properly shamed for creating such pressure on her youth , ill check and edit later. Edit : She was in fact advised theraphy,tho many comments shared her sentiment in one way or another . One of more deranged and upvoted examples suggesting that she should do nothing and once he grows up to become an abuser of women he will learn the hard way that his behavior is wrong and he will be quote:"shadow of a decent person"

What she's really saying is, she hates herself for not being competent and attractive enough to attract intelligent, clean, good smelling men. And because she's too cowardice to change herself to have the ability to surround herself with quality men, she puts all her problems on men.

And if her son is hetero and intelligent, he will see this to be true, and eventually vanish from her life to live happily with women who like men.

And the fact that she won't even be with women says a lot.
