Hello- I’m not a frequent Reddit poster so I apologize if I don’t know all of the etiquette… I’m posting here because I’m hoping you are my target audience. I’m (41f) looking for ideas for a Christmas gift to buy my cousin (45m) who has very recently been thrown into chaos by his soon to be ex-wife who filed for divorce rather abruptly. My cousin and I have always been very close and I would describe him more like a brother than a cousin. His wife is ok- kinda controlling, kinda bitchy but I’ve always got along with her for the most part. He is a good man who always strived to make his wife happy and works really hard to provide for her and their 4 children- there has been longstanding issues in their marriage but he was always willing to try and make things work. His wife suddenly told him she was done trying, moved out a couple of weeks ago and filed for divorce today. He has been blindsided by this sudden change and is struggling quite a bit with it. I would like to get him a thoughtful Christmas present this year to help lift his spirits and am looking for any suggestions that you all think might help- maybe a good book to help him process or some sort of self care basket? Any ideas are welcome! Thanks so much.
