How do yall balance chasing a woman and pursuing her romantically/sexually vs coming off to her as being clingy/needy?

Women seem to want men to pursue them. We’ve heard the stories from women of women not being hit on by men at bars and in public and “where have all the good men gone” and “are men just done trying”? So women want men to still chase. They want to feel desired.

But then at the same time, women also say that men can come off too clingy or needy and they get the ick from that. Like if a man keeps trying it comes off as desperate sometimes.

But it seems like quite the problem of balancing the two in pursuit of the objective which is getting female affection. Maybe it’s what is perceived as pursuing vs being overbearing.

Like where do you guys see the balance? How do you let a woman know she is desired without coming off as desperate or giving her the ick? How do you allow yourself to be naturally aggressive but not come off as desperate and needy? What does that look like for yall?

Maybe an ambivalent and detached pursuit is the way to go. I have no idea because if you’re too ambivalent and detached that might allow room for another person to swoop in.
