So I’m curious what people think about this, because I can’t tell if I’m reading too much into small details or if they actually matter.

I cold approached a woman at the gym the other day. Went in confident, started the convo naturally, we were talking for a while, she was smiling, engaging, even said I’d make a good tennis partner and was open to hanging out. I suggested coffee, she said sure, and I asked for her number. She agreed. Here’s the part that’s messing with my head: when I pulled my phone out to get her number, my hand was visibly shaking for like 5 seconds. Not insanely, but definitely noticeable. I didn’t say anything about it, didn’t apologize, didn’t act weird just got the number and finished the interaction normally.

The convo itself felt solid. I approached out of nowhere, led the interaction, stayed flirty, didn’t hesitate to ask. But now I’m wondering if small things like that (slight nervousness at the close, less eye contact at the goodbye, energy dropping a bit at the end) can actually undo an otherwise good interaction. For context, she’s 25, works a corporate job, clearly confident herself. Part of me thinks “she probably wants a confident guy,” and another part of me thinks I’m just overanalyzing normal human adrenaline after a cold approach.
