Very appalling. Literally fits the textbook of "serial date r* killer." "he was way too drunk" (GHB + even a little alcohol is exceptionally depressing). Murdered in a very gruesome way. Vulnerable population. It has every hallmark. I hope in time those police face justice and Ed's family and friends can find peace.

GHB is used by some gay men in chemsex, but has also been used as a date rape drug.

Well that seems like something the cops should have considered

Insane thing to say but unfortunately unsurprising; I think a lot of people are ignorant to how specific sexist and homophobic attitudes towards gay men intersect and result in this kind of thinking and justification (it also makes me think of the whole "well he was killed/raped/assaulted by another man" argument)

I hope the family can find peace and justice at some point; the officers should be ashamed of themselves
