Hello, I'm making this post to try solve my problems regarding approaching. I'm going to try to make this comprehensive to narrow down the problem, because so far the advices I got were not applicable or helpful to me.

My goal is to get something started on club dance floors to get casual hookups, I think that's what suits me best. I've been partying a lot and I can say I'm no stranger to flirting on the dance floor, but it never really happened due to me starting the interaction. Either I was approached, or the interaction started naturally from an eye contact and dancing together. I will precise that I am quite the overthinking and anxious type, and can depending on the context appear reserved and holding back, which is probably part of the problem.

However it's catching back to me as where I am living now girls do not seem to approach or spontaneously make eye contact or dance with men. The culture here seems to be mostly about men making coming to introduce themselves, but I don't seem to get how to do it right.

If I go without putting specific intent in meeting someone and just have fun, the ladies here are not gonna engage in any interaction with me (the men however are very friendly, and I had no real problem making friends). If I try a more to approach, either dancing next to a group of girl, or a pat on the shoulder I still get typically ignored, it hurts to not having at least feedback.

However I'm pretty sure the problem is not my appearance as I consider myself attractive and the girls are definitely not unapproachable as some men in the club manage to get their attention, even alone (albeit typically for a rather short moment, but that's all I need). I noticed their approaches are surely more assertive than mine but I'm worried to push too far their boundaries by doing so, the right spot is hard for me to identify. Overthinking this might be part of making my approach feel less confident but I don't really see how to proceed.

Do you have any specific advice that would help me get over my confusion regarding this matter, either in matter of inner game to think the approach, or in term of technically what to do to make an appreciated approach to these women ? I've been bothered by this for too long and I have no real choice but to face it now.
