Raised a large loving family. Don’t get me wrong my mom is a saint too but that’s not the subject of this post.

I was a young father with a great lucky job and a beautiful young family. I had hit the jackpot in life: hot wife, cute kid, good career, no debt, new house, it was perfect; too perfect. Until i caught my ex in a 6 month affair.

I had the best lawyers in the state referred to me. 10 of them.

When I talked to these lawyers they told me plainly, your cheating ex will get half your unvested employer stocks and you will pay child support and you might pay alimony.

At this point I’m depressed, freaking out, wondering how this could be? How could cheating ex go out every weekend leaving me to watch the baby so she could heal from PPD be rewarded with unvested stocks?

Tip number 1: do not seek advice from women on any matters related to divorce, infidelity, child support, alimony, parenting plan.

Now for my father’s advice when I was in a deep dark hole. He drew a map of the US on a napkin at a restaurant. He drew an arrow to the other side of the country. He said, Son, you can move all the way across the country and start a new family and a new life. This is isn’t the end of anything. This is just a chapter. Make the next chapter awesome.

It unlocked my mind. I realized all this bs is just a speed bump not the final decree.

I didnt move across the country. I told my ex my turn to party you will watch the kid. Kid dropped off at my apartment in 15 minutes 🤣🤣🤣

I negotiated my $500k marital estate in 3 hours for $500. I got my equity check in 3 months and bought my golf buddy’s golf course house.

Everything came up aces when I switched from victim mode to realizing I now had unlimited possibilities no matter what these hoes and scammers do.

I hope my dad’s advice can unlock some of your brains when you are in the shit. Now I’m living a life that I would not trade for anything. I play golf when my kid isn’t with me and I coach my kid‘s basketball team which is feared across the league 🤣
