The idea that patriarchy was created by men...

Does it benefit some men at the top of the social echelon? Absolutely.

Yet it's a system of gender roles created entirely by environmental pressure and needs of survival. It was put in place both by men AND women.

They'll say "why would women have participated in building a system that oppresses them" as a retort, yet in the very same breath saying "patriarchy hurts men too", unaware of the irony of it all...

Exactly. So many of us have been conditioned to believe we are no longer beholden to nature/our environment. But how else do you explain that similar systems have been found across virtually all human civilizations for all of recorded history? Furthermore, how do you explain that gender relations did not significantly change until the Industrial Revolution?

The presentism is strong with these people.
