Almost seven years since my divorce. It's the little things that you can't let go of. The things that seem really stupid and yet you can't get them out of your mind. My ex committed terrible acts against me. Things that made me feel angry and bitter. The thing that still eats at me the most? She stole my entire collection of "The Year's Best Science Fiction", edited by Gardner Dozois. He's perished, there will be no more. I spent many lovely hours is used bookstores big and small across the entire country amassing a full set, I think I was still missing Year Three. She just took them. I'm sure she never intended to read them, she probably sold them. Those are the things I keep coming back to. The books she stole, the tools she stole, the trading cards she stole. Divorce is terrible and as Ted Lasso says, 'Divorce makes people do crazy things.' I hope someday I will be able to forgive her. I don't see that anytime soon.
