Wasn't it about 12 years ago in Toronto when a college campus held a public event to address issues that men faced and a group of protesting Feminists pulled the fire alarm? I believe and infamous meme came about with that whole incident.

I'm just saying, it's fascinating now that people in Canada are now having this discussion. There are so many theories as to why that is but it's still interesting nonetheless.

The governments of Canada actively don't care. They can't care.

Look at any parties platform. Federal or Provincial. The Greens, Liberals and NDP all have gender equity sections. Not a single one of them over the last 20 years has listed a single issue facing men or boys. They treat GBV, IPV as gendered issues. They reference the pay gap. They repeat the exact same feminist and identify politics talking points that have been debunked time and time again.

So if they cared about men and boys. They would have to challenge there ideology. They would have to challenge their world view and criticise how they approached these issues.

Take a look at the survey for the Federal Men's Health Strategy. It talks about positive masculinity. It throws in the sugar pill were these efforts can't overshadow women's health strategy, even though there has been one for 25 years. And in the womens strategy it doesn't throw in a sugar pill for men and boys.

The current Liberal government refunded the Minister for Women and Gender Equality. Is on board with labeling Femicide a more important crime while not mentioning Androcide. For the Canadians here go poll your elected official. See if they are familiar with the term Femicide and Androcide. Which one do you think they know about?

Boys education is the exact same. Addressing boys education means addressing the advantages and privledges we've given women and girls. It means overcoming a cognitive dissonance.

I compare it to religion. Many athiest had to deconstruct there religious beliefs over years of effort and questioning there world view. This is why it's so hard for us to convince people. Its not just showing them one fact. It's about challenging there ideology and giving them the motivation to challenge it themsleves. They need to be the one to overcome it. Look at Cassie Jaye, it took here 4 years while making a movie directly meeting with MRAs to overcome that cognitive dissonance.

The CBC won't repeat this issue. They'll drag it out every few months or year and call it progress. They've already codified into our charter and constitution that women are a disadvantaged group and men and boys are not.

Also think about it these Parties must be willing to give up voting blocks. They just be willing to let go of major voting blocks without guarantee that they will get an equally strong one back.

So we get stuck in a world of poloticians thinking of there own ability to seek power versus doing the right thing.

Honestly, I'm 100% pessimistic about this. Countries like Canada have their merits but they're totally lost in the misandry sauce and not coming out in my lifetime, or the century after I start my dirt nap.

This is quite the moment. The Boy Crisis going from some fringe idea by some fringe figure to making CBC's flagship nightly news program.

As for whether talk will turn into action, I think it's notable that this news report strongly suggests that the government needs to act and acknowledge the different needs of boys in school. The way it was presented, it wasn't too sympathetic to the woman dismissing the issue while talking about "male supremacy."

Im annoyed they still had to shoehorn the manosphere, toxic mysogyny, and "boys should just pull their socks up and work harder to catch up to their female counterparts" ....but at least this is a national discussion that had some otherwise good messages.
