It's much easier to A&A to absurdity when you focus on a specific action or point of interest

In your journey, you will encounter people who are stronger, smarter, wittier, funnier, better looking, more socially skilled, better at academics than you, etc. You can't be better or as good at everything versus everyone.

If you don't have the wit to keep up with hers then just simply laugh at hers. Don't view it as a competition. Laughing at good jokes is equally indicative of a good sense of humor as making those good jokes.

Humble brag here, but I generally have some of the more witty comments to say in my group, and the only response that bugs me is when a guy is clearly just getting jealous of it. Just laugh and smile. Contribute something if you have something but you certainly don't have to one-up her.

Funny isn't your thing. And she isn't agreeing and amplifying, she is just being funny. You can't keep up, so she found her handle on you. Play your strengths, which might be caveman. Don't try to be witty if you're not because then you are following her. Just pick her up and put her down somewhere else. "Me love coffee, make me strong!"

Sometimes it's hard to think of the perfect thing to say. I mean lets be honest it's easy to do here on Reddit, but in the moment doing it quickly enough that it's not awkward... Hard. It becomes a lot easier with practice, real confidence, etc.

When in doubt always go with a look if you can't think of anything good to say right away. Looking at a girl like she said something dumb has worked way better than witty comebacks for me.

I would take the opposite tact. If she AAs then just say 'alright' and change the subject. Mimicry is the best form of flattery and this girl already has you beat. Win instead by not stumbling over her AAs and learning to effortlessly change the subject or continue with whatever you were talking about previous. Not reacting to a stimulus is the best way to stop annoying behavior. Like when a child is bothering you.

This isn't really a TRP problem, more of a "how quick are you on your feet" problem. In the given example, I wouldn't have even recognized what she did as A&A, I would've taken it as an opportunity to bust her balls back.

The woman isn't trying to outperform you, she loves humor banter back and forth. If she is defining the frame, don't enter it. Maintain your frame regardless of whether or not she enters it. Just relax and have some fun with your humorous friend. Don't get caught up in who "owns" the conversation. Shit like that wouldn't even enter my mind. I'd be more thinking about all that sweet free coffee. And if she wants to act like she owns the conversation while giving me free shit, okie-dokie. "Yep, I'm a charity case. BTW, there's this mortgage payment that needs some charitable help..." or "You hang out with charity cases? You mean poor people? Gross."

I guess my responses are A&A, but I don't even think of it that way when I do it. I think you're thinking too much about "positioning" yourself, instead of enjoying the opportunity to fuck around and talk shit with a friend.

If she does it too much, like she has something to prove, just kind of treat her like she's a spazz. "Yep I'm a charity case. Anyway, where's the creamer?" Or just ignore it completely and be like "Where's the creamer?" if you're sick of the shit. Point is, maintain frame.
