fellas, I thought I had heard it all. Recently had a long-time FWB branch swing to a new dude. We had feelings for each other and were talking about getting together long-term when I move to her city for work. I'm spinning 4 plates and focused on school like a madman so not feeling too bad about it.

It was eye-opening to hear her explain the branch-swing to me, and wanted to share it with the boys.

"I want to end up with you in the long-term, but I need a basis of comparison otherwise how else will I know if you're the right guy for me?"

"You're not a backup, I just need to try other things right now"

"If it doesn't work out with me and this guy, then I know you're the right guy for me and we can pick up where we left off"

"I need to figure this out with the other guy before I can continue with you"

I just agreed to everything she said and told her good luck. I said I'm not going to be waiting for you and that I can't guarantee anything will happen with us in the future but that we'll see (we won't). The look of confusion and visible regret on her face, she was about to cry. I wished her the best with a smile, and made an excuse to leave. Deleted her contact and her #, but just got the trademark essay text trying to suck me back in a few days after. Obviously didn't respond.

I swear they do this to themselves.

Is anyone falling for this level of bullshit?
