There's quite a bit to unpack in that essay.

The US Covid 19 scenario is a real paradox. In 2017, the Trump White House began to dismantle the entire readiness program for biological agents. This included pandemic response, biowarfare response by the DoD, and it seems that the Congress and Senate were not aware of this. The dismantling was completed by August 2019.

First, it assumes that lockdown, social distancing, masks, etc will continue to be the American norm, and in this environment, women will do the raising and educating of children. Why not make this equal opportunity care-giving and pay either the man or woman who is doing the educating at home? Many fathers would welcome that option. It makes sense that a breastfeeding mom needs to be intimately involved in the 24-hour care of her new infant, but as the child nears school age the issue of education is more of a tribal issue than a parental issue.

The graph for antidepressants is very revealing. Happiness studies have been showing that women are getting steadily more and more miserable and dissatisfied with their lives. What's really interesting is that the studies have shown that men have always been much more miserable and dissatisfied with their lives than women, and now women are at last joining the men. Women aren't as miserable as men yet, but they're getting there.

Men only address their depression issues when they are life-threatening. Most men accept they will die years younger than women on average, and a lot of this is likely due to self-medication (alcohol, nicotine, recreational drugs, etc). However, as women enter the miserable zone, they are aware of the change and get anti-depressants from their doctors.

This is regarded as a crisis for women, but men are still left completely out of any discussion.

We can see the common threads here. Men have always been the dray horses of society. They do the hard physical jobs, they go to war. We don't see women marching for equal rights to become plumbers, bricklayers, construction workers, etc. :)

We need to do two things.

First, we need to get a massive testing program going so that every American is tested every two weeks. Quarantine the infected, and pay them to be in quarantine, say $400 a week per person. Within a month of beginning this testing program, we could stop wearing masks and social distancing and everybody could get back to work. Then we could get the kids back in school.

Second, we need to focus on improving the happiness of both women and men in the US.

I'm a New Zealander. I've lived in the US for a long time. I've seen people becoming unhappier, more miserable, more stressed, and Future Shock, information overload, and conspiracy theories are all becoming the hallmarks of America.

It's time to get joyful! Yeah, MGTOW is a great way to dig down and find your own core, but when you get there, you should be rebuilding your life with a big helping of relaxed happiness .

Edit: Also fuck this whole "women need to be at home with the kids." Last time i checked, women and men are mere social constructs. Gender is not real, so men can be fully capable mothers in 2020 if they choose to identify as such. In that light, the article is discriminatory and highly transphobic bigotry.

This article was insanity. Imagine the cognitive dissonance it took to have these thoughts. I would be fine with a UBI for everyone if anything. If everyone got a certain amount from the very start, there would be less stress overall. Far less needless marriages/divorce, and more financial independence across the board.

If women are going to be receiving a cut of my taxes that means i have the right to have a final say on how they spend my money. Like a parent giving a child an allowance, my money = my choice. Well, lets switch the genders and say that men do the same. That would mean all things like most (public) transportations, mining industries & all others will stop working. They choose this option of becoming a single mother. It mean being responsible for the consequences too.

On the other hand Im highly in favor of universal programs that can get beggars of the street. Especially if they are men and vets.
