I hate this case but am at the same time am very intrigued. I have been watching the trial every damn day and there are some days that I end up very angry. The defense has made claims that Travis abused, stalked, and forced her into deviant sexual behavior. They claim he verbally, sexually, emotionally, and physically abused her. They claim he controlled everything. Yet the story continually changes. As the prosecution whittles away at the claims and one by one disproves them her story changes. He coerced her into deviant sex regularly- the prosecution proved it was her that was the sexual aggressor in their relationship. He beat her and bruised her- no evidence. He emotionally abused her in texts- the texts show she did the abusing. He stalked her- there is proof she was the stalker. This woman was a stalker- she stalked and harassed Travis as well as previous boyfriends.

She has repeatedly made unproven claims against him as well as painted herself as this helpless little victim. But she is a liar - she lied to police, investigators, her family, his family, the prosecution, and even her own lawyers. Her lies have been changing even to the point that she lies and contradicts herself on the stand. In the span of half an hour I counted six times where she obviously lied and stumbled over her own statements. Yet we are supposed to believe that this woman is a victim and was horribly abused even though there is no evidence and her claims are ridiculous.

I am angry because I feel that she will walk. There are too many people that are stupid enough to believe her obvious lies. Too many believe her claims. Too many look at her and think she is too pretty to have done this. What a crock of shit.

And let us not forget that there are a lot of other people claiming that the prosecutor is abusing her because he is so aggressive. She herself has stated something along those lines while on the stand. He is just an abusive man mistreating this helpless girl. I call bullshit- he is aggressive, that is his style. He is known for it and is like that no matter what the person's gender.

She talked Travis into getting into the shower and had him get into a compromising position. She stabbed him repeatedly about the shoulders and arm, she stabbed him deeply in his back severing a major artery, as he stood at the sink spitting up blood she continued stabbing him, she followed him down the hall and slit his throat from ear to ear, then she shot him in the head (he was dead already), she dragged his body back to the shower to wash off her blood due to a cut, she tried to destroy evidence, she left and dumped her clothing and gun, she then called him a few hours later and left a message, she called other people too, she drove to Utah to meet up with another guy where they made out (including her climbing on the guy's lap and grinding him). A few days later she sent Travis an email, contacted police once she heard he was dead, and called his grandmother to offer condolences. She also sent the woman 20 white Irises- Travis told her he wanted to name his future daughter Iris. She was so helpless and weak right?

I'm no fan of "battered woman syndrome" because it's nothing more than quack science. I don't want to see yet another flawed feminist concept get a fresh coat of paint as though it would be any less wrong dressed up in appeals to gender neutrality.

Travis Alexander didn't need the battered woman defense; he wasn't the one who murdered anyone, he was the straight up victim on every count. Every single example that the author gives as inexcusable in her book is actually an example against the battered woman defense, not in it's favor. It's almost like there's this weird cognitive dissonance thing going on about who murdered who in each case, from Francine Hughes through Jodi Arias. So I'm at a loss as to what point she's trying to make with her article. By convicting people who murder their lovers, going back 35 years to the days before The Burning Bed is exactly what we'd be doing. Nothing wrong with that.

I think the biggest oversight in this case for the public, is that whenever anyone talks about the case, they don't go into detail of how he was killed.

His throat was sliced ear to ear (deep enough to cut the carotid, jugular, and windpipe), he was stabbed roughly 27-29 times, and shot in the head. Before, During, and After, she photographed the attack. She then tried to break the camera by smashing it into pieces. She then borrowed gas cans, filled them up with gas, went on a road trip for a few days if I recall, hundreds of miles. 5 days later his body was discovered by co-workers who did a welfare check at his home.

the whole point is proving beyond a reasonable doubt. the jurors were interviewed and all of them were pro-death penalty, so they are looking at this with evaluation. and while i'm PREPARED for jodi to walk, i'm also confident that the jury knows what they're doing. did you listen to the questions they asked her? they were mocking her story. they don't believe her. and the prosecution is tearing it up. juan martinez does an excellent job in shrink wrapping a person into a story and then slamming it to pieces and that's what he did to jodi, her dumbass of a therapist, and what he'll do in the closing arguments. i've been watching this trial since about a week or two into it, and if i were a juror, i'd look at all the compelling evidence. the gas cans, the gun missing from jodi's grandparents house, the fact that she washed the knife, washed the camera and tried to clean up her mess afterwards and, of course, the multitude of lies that she's told. there's evidence to PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt she did it. everyone's turning this into a speculation game but they forget to look at the hard evidence and the victim himself. travis was a good man, a man that no one could honestly say was violent or hurtful. a player possibly? yes. he's young and as with all young people, men or women, there's bound to be mistreating of a significant other or one that they are dating. but the jurors will see that and i don't think they're given enough credit.

If she walks feminists will literally riot in the streets. No way they'll tolerate that patriarchal bullshit.

If she gets less than what a man would receive for murdering his wife (death penalty) NOW and every other feminist organization will never let us hear the end of it.

Some people are so abused that eventually they freak out and kill their abuser. For most people it's an excuse as in the Jodi Arias case. But for those rare exceptions it really does happen. Exactly why we need to have more domestic violence awareness, abuse of all kinds and bullies.
