Build up was fine, but when I went for the kill and asked her to put on a condom she suddenly withdrew and become sad.

Eventually she opened up and said she wanted to do these things with me, she just didn't have the self-confidence to do them.

And thus, no sex.
Granted im not mad, I didn't act buthurt, but my disappointment was clear and in response she was apologetic.

Not sure where to go from here, any thoughts or opinions?

Edit: lel k tad bit of confusion. "Asked her to put on a condom" was intended to mean: ask for consent to move to the next stage, aka me put on a male condom.
