As a girl, I feel like carpentry would sound the most 'manly' and seems like it could turn into a fun hobby if you end up enjoying it.

A culinary course could definitely be useful outside of work. You can learn to cook with more variety and I personally find it very impressive when a man can cook something for himself besides ramen and eggs.

So out of those, I think culinary wins.

Go with carpentry or cabinet making. If you're really interested in cooking find a nice girl to teach you or take a specialty class together for a date. Most cooking isn't hard, you just follow a recipe exactly as stated when starting out, but it would be helpful to know both technique for things such as knife usage and the chemistry behind what you're cooking. It'd be a lot easier learning how to cook in your spare time after prison than it would be to learn carpentry.

I would say carpentry because that encompasses cabinet making - better to be a generalist. Besides, if you become a carpenter, you can basically build yourself a house when you get out.

Cooking would be better while you are in prison, but carpentry will be better when you get out. You have to decide whether you are planning short-term or long-term.

I've done carpentry and cabinet making, not as a class, in real life. The carpentry class is probably more about basic wall, door and window framing. It might include doing a roof.

Cabinetry teachers one many more tools like standalone planers, routers, shapers, and heavy duty stuff, plus joining techniques, decorative methods, hinges, etc.

Don't know how much thought you should be putting into impressing women.

Try doing what you genuinely have more interest in. I personally find a man that's passionate about his skills/hobbies most attractive.

I don't know how I'd feel about a man that learned an entire skill to impress women. It would make me wonder why he didn't have more important things to think about while in prison than chasing women?

Everybody has to eat; the ability to cook tasty, nutritious meals is a heavily underrated skill. Also, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Also, if you intend on having kids you need to be able to cook well in order to teach them how to.

If you can confidently cook a 4-star Thanksgiving meal without help carpentry and Cabinet Making could be something new and exciting. If that is not the case, I strongly urge you to sign up for the Culinary class.

Carpentry and cabinet making are skills that will be relatively useless unless you pursue them as a hobby. You may not wish to cook everyday, but you will certainly (probably) eat every day.
