I'm 24 and I'm new to town. Right now I want nothing more than to start making friends, start getting dates, and start getting laid. I'm new to TRP and seddit, so I should juts mention that my experience with women is nearly non existent. I'm finally just in a position where I feel good about how I look and my life and thought I would start trying to get girls.

I have a bit of social anxiety. I know, it's a bullshit excuse. Normally, when I'm with a group or someone I know I do very well. I know how to be personable, funny, I'm learning to escalate, and hold strong eye contact. The simple things I know how to do and can do them well. But when I'm alone everything is different. I don't feel like myself. I feel so vulnerable. I know that's lame to admit, but I'm just being honest. I feel intimidated by the fact that everyone else out around me is with a friend or more. I never just see anyone out alone like me. And more importantly I know that no one is paying attention to me. For all intents and purposes I'm invisible, and yet I feel like everyone is looking at me wondering why this loser is out by himself. It's silly and stupid thinking, but it gets me every time.

I am trying to make friends, but it's a little tougher post college. I don't want to wait to make friends to go out and start talking to people. I want to do it now. I'm pushing myself now. But every time I go to a strip of bars alone I freeze up. Same at clubs. I know I should just be able to go out and dance and not give two fucks about what's going on me and have fun, but it's the same thing. I do the one thing that I shouldn't do- don't approach. I am desperate to conquer this. What can I do?
