I've seen a couple of posts lately about avoiding Red Pill terminology in communications with non-RP folks, and TRP being incorrectly cited as being blatantly misogynist, sexist, racist, (insert-your-favorite-"ist" here).

New RPers often appear confused and bewildered by the vitriol and just plain hate that gets directed toward TRP and all of us with the gall to be posting here. So, I thought I'd post this, especially for those of you who are just getting here, and may be wondering if you're seriously misinterpreting TRP philosophy because you're not seeing how or why a small, very vocal group of people think this sub is worse than /r/picsofdeadkids. If you've been around a while, you've probably relegated this whining to background noise.

Simple fact is, what TRP really is about doesn't matter to SRS or any SJW, because they are completely in thrall to what's known as "confirmation bias." Confirmation bias simply is the habit people have of seeking, finding, and remembering evidence to support existing beliefs.

SJWs want to change the world, but will viciously resist changing their minds.

Presenting these people with proof against their prejudiced beliefs (i.e. telling them to read the sidebar, or the general consensus of posters in TRP) will not change their minds that TRP is the root of all evil, it will in fact paradoxically reinforce it. This is the so-called "backfire effect."

You may as well file TRP in the same category as religion and politics: Things smart people don't bother arguing about.

Something to keep in mind when you see people vehemently disagreeing with TRP: Paul Graham wrote an interesting essay called "How to Disagree" in which he outlines the ways in which people disagree (especially on the Internet) and created a "Disagreement Hierarchy" (DH) outlining arguments from the weakest to the strongest, numbering them DH0 to DH6: Name calling, Ad Hominem, Responding to Tone, Contradiction, Counter-argument, Refutation and Refuting the Central Point. Most arguments against TRP that I have seen are DH0 or DH1, and I've never seen one rise above DH3, contradiction without evidence.

TL;DR? Don't bother trying to sell anybody on TRP, save your mental energy for someone worth spending it on: You.
