I don't think it's a conversation at all. The only thing that thread proves is that TRP is completely misunderstood by most people outside of it. I think part of it is the insider vocabulary we've developed (as all communities do) which makes very little sense outside the PUA/MRA context. When I say misunderstood, I don't mean that they cannot understand our motivations or why we exist. I mean they cannot accurately describe what we believe, which I think is a prerequisite for any kind of debate.

What's most revealing are some of the comments that people make in their outcry for why TRP is horrible, but actually serve as examples for why it is correct.

I'll ignore the posters who ascribe completely incorrect views to TRP (setting up pointless troll strawmen).

A few more interesting examples:

A woman commenting about mature women being more discriminating completely ignores TRP's explanation for the dynamic she observes (The Wall, beta provider):

Anyone with life experience past 35, will admit that the football player is attractive, but will acknowledge the editor is now more appealing. This was admittedly not always the case. Like the men in TheRedPill are, women were young once too. Tastes, needs, and desires change with age. The men in TheRedPill will discover this one day.

A man commenting about TRP (actually probably the most red pill comment I saw on there):

I think I'm just to old for that crap. I'm in my 30s now and these kids are describing some bizarro world. I'm single, I never want to get married, and I honestly don't give a shit about sex that much. These guys need hobbies or something.

And the full text of my favourite post: (NAWALT!!!!):

What's your take on it?

Some people just don't want to go outside and live.

What do you think is the reason of this movement's existence?

There's no one reason why it exists, but the central theme is that women are basically terrible, crappy things (in a manner of speaking).

Do you think people who subscribe to this line of thinking are just stupid/assholes?

More or less, but some men were probably hurt by those women who they deeply trusted and loved, and this is their (sour and unproductive) outlet for dealing with it. There are some men with legitimate cause to be angry at women, but there's better ways of resolving that anger than buying into a sub-culture of generalizations. Of course, they won't find those ways due to the poor state of mental health and couseling (at least in the U.S.) and the extreme aversion of men seeking help for their health (likely more universal).

Do you think there is a deeper reason as to why some men turn to this?

I've somewhat covered that, but let me expand:

Some people aren't comfortabe living life on a case by case basis and need generalities. Some people feel the need to see and validate patterns where patterns may not exist. This applies to Red Pill, MRA, Radfems (and other feminists), Christians, and other belief groups.

The Red Pill is convinced all women act a certain way because of nature (or something), which is impposible of course. I'd say some Red Pill "theories" apply to some women, but not all or even most. The same is true of the other belief systems I stated earlier.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 15 points16 points  (19 children) | Copy

True, but you gotta admit, they're a lot closer to our views than they've ever been before.

Also, the woman saying that anybody older than 35 realizes they don't like the alpha... she has no idea how much she's just making out point!

[–]mctowelie21 points22 points  (13 children) | Copy

I don't think that's true. The people in that thread still seem to believe that TRP is a support group for scorned men who can't cope with rejection and instead choose to lash out at women. They don't understand that our goal is to improve ourselves; we don't hate the hamster we just try to understand and adapt to it.

Plus, they believe that NAWALT nullifies almost anything red pillers say.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 14 points15 points  (3 children) | Copy

You just come in here and rain on my optimism.

[–]mctowelie13 points14 points  (2 children) | Copy

I wish it were true, that more people would see what we see. But you can tell that's not the case simply by how the OP words the beginning of the thread:

What's your take on it? What do you think is the reason of this movement's existence? Do you think people who subscribe to this line of thinking are just stupid/assholes? Do you think there is a deeper reason as to why some men turn to this? If so, what do you think the reason(s) is (are)? If this was already discussed here or elsewhere, I'd like a link, I used to search function but couldn't find anything.

This conversation didn't even start off correctly, the prompt is so biased that it's almost laughable.

[–]Limpador17 points18 points  (1 child) | Copy

I prefer to be the asshole over the walking doormat anytime.

It's really funny that they keep saying that this sub is home to frustrated chumps who cannot get sex. I never had so much success since I've swallowed the red pill. I'm much less frustrated because I finally understand how women behave and why. Before it was just a big female black box to me.

[–]veggie_girl25 points26 points  (7 children) | Copy

people in that thread still seem to believe that TRP is a support group for scorned men who can't cope with rejection and instead choose to lash out at women.

I think my existence here is proof that theredpill is not like that. I have never been lashed out at. Since posting here I have never received a PM soliciting me for contact details, sex, penis pics, nor anything else. In total I have received 3 PM's and each one was "Hi, I noticed you post on TRP - I'm curious as to why you do." (Which if anyone is interested in I will totally share).

I used to post on //gonewild a couple years ago and I have seen some shit via PM, shit that I would like to unsee - yet women keep posting there every single day. Things I received via PM there included penis pics, ass pics, phone numbers, strange requests, women asking me if I wanted to do a threesome with their husband, women telling me I'm ugly, weirdos that wanted to buy my worn heels, invitations to fetlife profiles, dirty jokes, random people telling me I'm a slut, and the best one was a high-roller that wanted me to be his whore while he travels the world.

TL:DR - The men posting on theredpill are 1000% higher quality and more respectful than the men who peruse //gonewild. Yet women keep submitting themselves to be intimately viewed by that subreddit daily.

Careful, some blue piller might "fix" that to prove a point

[–]MisoSoup6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

Really glad to hear that. You make good posts here and we don't need that fucked-up nonsense.

[–]Netlinfo6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

"Hi, I noticed you post on TRP - I'm curious as to why you do." (Which if anyone is interested in I will totally share).

I'm actually quite interested. You generally make interesting points and I'd like to know what brought you here and how you felt when confronted with TRP.

[–]fuk_offe0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

tell the truth..... were you tempted?

[–]veggie_girl3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

Had he not been an anonymous wierdo yes. But at the time I was just starting a new job that paid very well. It was a huge risk/reward situation and I figured the risk was much higher than the reward. (See why I believe risk/reward is how you fight off hypergamy.)

[–]zionController6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

Plus, they believe that NAWALT nullifies almost anything red pillers say.

Exactly. I read through the thread and its basically "NAWALT, therefore everything TRP is null and void".

That thread is closer to the mark than they've ever been before, but its still an anti-male trash thread.

[–]Legio_X0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy

I am curious, what is the origin of the "red pill" name? (matrix reference?) What do blue and redpills refer to? I've seen people using both terms here and am not exactly sure what they're referring to. Oh, and what is "NAWALT"?

[–]Arnthy2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy

NAWALT = Not All Women Are Like That.

It is a Matrix reference. If you remember the scene, Neo is offered a blue pill to go back to living the lie of the Matrix or the red pill to wake up and join the real world.

[–]Legio_X1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

Ah, couldn't think of what else it could be referring to, but I couldn't remember which pill had which consequence.

[–]wrongful_ignorance2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

blue is the calming colour, letting you know everything is fine and you are a safe baby boy being taken care of.

red is a representation of the wrong way go back sign, the stern warning and cause for alarm colour.

I'm a skeptic by nature, so there are definitely aspects of TRP I continually question (in fact, just thought of a post I want to make on the topic).

I am just saying it's not a conversation when one cannot accurately repeat the most fundamental arguments of the people they are describing. What ends up happening is that they create a strawman and then attack that (sometimes intentionally, but here I believe unintentionally).

I would genuinely and wholeheartedly welcome a conversation/debate with someone who could logically argue "TRP believes A,B,C but B and C are wrong because X,Y and a more likely cause of B is Z".

We are not even at the stage where someone can accurately fulfil the "TRP believes A,B,C" part of that statement (unless they've already swallowed TRP and believe the rest).

MGTOW?

[–]MSoftHarem-1 points0 points  (4 children) | Copy

Pitiful omega more like it.

[–]veggie_girl4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yeah I get the vibe that this guy is more of a "tried and failed, so I gave up" type and is rationalizing his surrender.

[–]MockingDead3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

I was a MGTOW before Red Pill. So there is hope for him.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy

What's the difference between MGTOW and an Omega, if I might ask?

[–]MSoftHarem2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

MGTOW = Men going their own way. These are men who have made a conscience decision to opt out of society. They won't be raising families, and some of them avoid women at all costs.

Omega males are simply low value men who try to bring down Alpha males and/or rationalize why they are unsuccessful in life and with women. They tend to be the genuine creeps, losers, and real misogynists. Video game and porn obsessed, the whole nine yards.

[–]MockingDead0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

I have been more productive on Red Pill than I have for years on the blue.

I have been happier on Red Pill than on blue.

Holy fuck this kid at Starbucks is driving me crazy, gotta hit the gym.

[–]Limpador22 points23 points  (1 child) | Copy

I disagree about it being "spot on" in regards to what women really want. Some woman may want that, but I'm sure most women would agree that a relationship isn't about control, it's about teamwork.

My whole life I've been hearing bullshit like that. It never worked, it never will. I've ruined countless relationships because I followed this advice. Not anymore!

Women don't know what they want and white knights keep repeating the misinformation. I'm so fucking tired to discuss this topic in RL. If I don't kiss women's ass and praise their unrivaled worthiness I'm labeled a misogynist.

[–]lIllIllIes8 points9 points  (0 children) | Copy

Amen. Women are predisposed to be submissive sexually due to millions of years of biology.

What these people are arguing for is quite liberal, and they'll die attempting to change the biology of the sexes.

[–]lIllIllIes9 points10 points  (1 child) | Copy

I am subscribed to AskMen and found TRP because of that post. So bravo!

I don't consider myself to be an asshole, because I understand that there are exceptions when making generalizations. However, after reading through the introduction docs I quickly subscribed to TRP. I'm excited to see what kinds of advice I can incorporate into my social behavior.

[–]p3ndulum11 points12 points  (9 children) | Copy

If you want to know why TRP exists, ...why not ask /r/theredpill?

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet17 points18 points  (5 children) | Copy

We've already been asked that question, and the answer was because any man who comes looking for the Red Pill typically needs the Red Pill.

Everyone one else is happy to mock RP from a safe distance...otherwise they might read something true by accident and be either offended or convinced.

[–]ThePacketSlinger14 points15 points  (4 children) | Copy

Just wanted to say that I stopped by here a few days ago for the first time when someone linked to this sub during a rant. To be honest, I felt like a lot of the information here was stuff I had to learn on my own between 16 and 20. Wish I had known to come looking for the redpill then. This place is fast becoming my favorite subreddit because it's so interesting to see some of my own private thoughts show up in other users postings. The world could use some more redpill.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet5 points6 points  (1 child) | Copy

I felt like a lot of the information here was stuff I had to learn on my own between 16 and 20.

Definitely. Experience is a hard teacher, because she gives the test first and the lesson afterwards.

We're all here to figure out the truth of our condition, and to turn that truth to our advantage. I hope your stay here is fruitful and enlightening.

[–]ThePacketSlinger2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Thanks! I'll do my best to contribute wherever I can.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy

[–]ThePacketSlinger2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Thanks!

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 7 points8 points  (1 child) | Copy

Too easy!

[–]p3ndulum0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Touché.

[–]Netlinfo3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

It's funny actually. It's some kind of passive-agressive behaviour. Asking other people why we exist and what's our purpose, implying TRP is full of assholes and losers, instead of course to grow balls and say that directly to whom it may concern.

[–]Fukitol137 points8 points  (7 children) | Copy

Honest question:Am I the only one who prefers that TheRedPill be a smaller quality subreddit than attract too much attention and devolve into tumblr for men? of course its more likely that we get noticed by feminazis seeking a new target after seddit and TofuTofu.

Thoughts?

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 6 points7 points  (5 children) | Copy

We will keep the quality up. Click report on any offending posts. Even if it's not breaking rules and just stupid.

[–]Fukitol131 point2 points  (4 children) | Copy

keeping the quality up seems like a tiresome task and will probably get worse if we get too many men looking for an outlet to bash women to no productive end.you guys have done a pretty good job so far and you all deserve my sincere thanks. Should there be a thread so we can get a response from the community ?or has there been one already.

BTW I read all responses on the askmen thread and it seemed like you guys were fighting a futile battle but a great effort nonetheless.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 5 points6 points  (3 children) | Copy

It only looks futile. The logically-minded see our responses and realize we're not rabid, then they take a peek over here, turns out we're not insane afterall.

[–]Fukitol130 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

I agree and i admit that thats pretty much how i got here ,but the tofutofu witchhunt recently made me backup all his stuff on my harddrive ,however i do believe that /r/seducton lost an important contributor and that lessened the community as a whole particularly since the witchhunt seems to me as its just getting started.Makes me think if a fight club style policy might not be the better idea afterall.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

I see where you're coming from. I'm seeing more and more people bring up the 'sources?' Comment to every damn thing, or pulling out NAWALT. Anyone that actually reads the damn material won't make this rookie move, but it's making dosing legitimately helpful comments and discourse more difficult.

That said, I know I don't contribute much more then flippant remarks, but at least I try to be funny rather then argumentative.

[–]Fukitol130 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

That said, I know I don't contribute much more then flippant remarks, but at least I try to be funny rather then argumentative.

Thats pretty much all i do too,and in a good thread flippancy is as needed as sincerity ,threads about circlejerking , wannabe scientists screaming "source" (they usually go NAWALT if you do provide legitimate links and shift the conversation to validity of the study) though dont belong here.

"Seddit, how do I make eye contact/smile at girls I don't know?" is indicative of the calibre of posts there.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 10 points11 points  (1 child) | Copy

This guy specifically :

"Nice" will get you in trouble with women if you're coming from 'submissive' or 'low-value'. Low-value means that you're intentions can or must be questioned because you 'must' or you're doing it for 'gain'. This is especially true for men because 'real men' are assumed to have advantages. Feminism reinforces this constantly in the minds of women. So women feel men with less money or are more submissive are less valuable partners because their motives are unclear, naturally. Feminism has a weird way of actually promoting 'patriarchal' attitudes in women. Continued...

Remember folks, don't vote, just observe. If you're an /askmen subscriber you can contribute, but don't vote.

Also bothers me that the top comment doesn't even come close to describing what we are about.

[–]gotsickfromweed2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yeah I found that odd, maybe women from the female oriented trp sub?

[–]thecajunone5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

A couple I recognize but others I do not.

Honestly when I grill my female friends about our theories they tend to give in and admit most of it is spot on. I think that is what is happening here. Women are saying, "Let's see these misogynists", they come here then find themselves nodding along with our advice.

[–]enticingasthatmaybe0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Women are becoming REALLY alpha cock anaemic. They are like us, only they only lust for a small percentage of males. Maybe they are seeing that the lies are damaging their selection. Girl white knights

I think it's female bias. Some of them literally can't even SEE low value men. It's the "glass ceiling" chasers. They don't even acknowledge the men who make up the majority of the bottom of society.

Right on cue:

[–]lisacakes 10 points 2 hours ago Yes, but not ALL feminists are alike. There are the moderates and the extremists, but the moderates are treated like extremists.

The top comment has some RP truth to it (at least compared to the beta commenters), but they are unfortunately still quite far from being enlightened.
