Interesting story. Difficult to handle these things “properly” in work settings as the risk of being perceived as overly aggressive if one puts such people into their place is much higher than in private settings.

I think you’ve done well given the circumstances. Discrediting her nonsense in front of others and making her look like a child is a decent strategy.

Providing any opposition to such biatches is a good idea, as they aren’t used to their guy targets firing back.

I would have asserted that I don't partake in "something" at work events but she is free to enjoy herself. Then just ignore it. You need to be able to clearly see through this basic manipulation tactic.

I think you've handled it well enough, anything further would sound like a grudge. Remember, she has no value in your life. Perhaps you could say, "the thing looks awful" (perhaps she cooked it and this is a fine insult)
