Better, go to the baby shower and invite them over for a dinner saying your wife wants you over. Tell your wife you asked on her behalf. If they flake again, which will be less-likely now that you've asked them both, it will still earn you a stronger frame with your wife and never talk about it again. If they do come, your wife will have an opportunity to let go of the grudge and you would've shown leadership and dominance.
