While I'd like to tell you to let the children play in the sandbox and go on about your business, my concern is that she's creating a written history of inappropriate behavior you've never been a part of. If you have an HR department you ought to take your coworker and that email (series of emails) right to them and make a point to stress how uncomfortable the whole thing makes you.

This is the type of thing that can snowball, so get in front of it.

Do not confront the bitch. Take the email directly to management and HR, file a formal complaint for harassment. Get her fired.

Is there any reason she might hate you? Is she jealous of your wife, do you have a better salary, better position? She might just be crazy (the reason the engagement was cancelled).

I'd worry about your IT friend who apparently snoops through peoples emails. There's no telling what he/she has read when people thought it was intended for just the person they are sending it to.

Moving on from that, did you tell this woman in any capacity that you are making yourself available to her?

You don't have to answer my question bu tif you've EVER hinted on to that then you may want to also evaluate your situation. If I found out my s/o ever said that to someone i'd be pretty upset.
