Afaik frats are where you get to fuck hot girls and make useful future connections at american colleges. A guide on how to get into one would definitely count as sexual strategy.

When guys from fraternities talk about "secrets" they sound like the biggest pussies. You are not important, your boy's club is not important, your secrets are not important. Nobody cares about your secret handshake or how many times you were forced to fellate a brother under the auspices of "hazing".

Does it put you in the presence of more ~~women~~ sluts? Probably. Can you do this without spending time circle jerking a bunch of betas? Definitely.

By the way, it is still a sexual marketplace. i.e. If you are the AMOG of your fraternity, and your fraternity is the AMOG, then you will pull in hot ass. If you are a beta loser, your "brothers" will drink from the well first, and you will get the leftovers. Probably your time is better spent hitting the gym, focusing on your schoolwork so you can be real life successful, and doing activities that will put you in the presence of attractive girls.

Edit: Forgot to add that being part of an "exclusive" group that requires some special ability or performance is much more impressive than paying to join a bunch of other guys who also had to pay for their friends. i.e. captain of the lacrosse team, president of student council, championship debate captain, whatever floats your boat. Outside of college, the "big man on campus" is the guy who has a killer career, respected in their circle, and has lots of options.

I am not sure if it's the same as what I've experienced, but over here, we have something like fraternities that make you do a lot of seemingly random shit that sometimes has a message behind it. For me, it was a fast way to interact with over 100 different people (it's a big thing in Belgium), polishing my social skills and making me better at holding frame with people I'm not familiar with. A lot of people have a very strong prejudice against fraternities, and I don't think you can convince those to your cause. But those hesitating might be swayed if you actually explain the positive points of that unique form of interaction. Now I realize that in some fraternities, you just get humiliated for a long time and that contributes in nothing to your growth as a human being, I believe. If that's not the kind of activity you're trying to promote, go right ahead.

frat member here... and i just want to say 2 things:

it's not for everyone you get out of it what you put into it.

for those hating on frat life, get a life. until you know what goes on inside & why things are done, you're just guessing.

I've seen guys transform socially... and I've seen guys find true friendship... the kind that lasts for a lifetime. most of all, I've seen guys like myself, push themselves mentally & physically to limits they didn't know they had.

that made school easier & made life (approaching girls, dealing with hardships etc) easier... put the "big picture" into perspective.

I think it would be great, OP. Pledging for me was certainly validation of certain principles I had otherwise believed. For some, they pledge and return to laziness. But for other's, Myself included, it instilled in me a pride I had lost, of pleasure in doing things a certain way, because that is the right way to do it.

I think for me, pledgeship was about reintroducing the importance of authenticity and joy in working hard.

I would suggest being forthright in your account of pledging, but doing so anonymously without aggregating either the name of your university or of your Fraternity in the post. Personally, /u/castaway1898 , I look forward to your post.

200 year old European fraternity with tradition and honor.
