I feel like I don't have much of a personality when I'm in a group setting. How can I overcome this?

Just try talking to people.

If you're funny and loud, make some jokes. If you're a good listener, ask interesting questions.

Get over the idea "I have nothing to say," and just talk about shit that interests you, and interests the other person.

You need storytelling skills to captivate a whole group. I guess practice makes perfect. My stories usually end up disjointed without a satisfactory quip or observation. When it's one-on-one it's easier because you don't feel as rushed to make your point.
