Sup RP.

This thing has been bothering me for some time now. Back when I used to think that girls were innocent little creatures I´d try to treat them like anyone else - if I enjoyed talking / spending time with them and felt that there was something going on, I´d contact (1-2 times a week, tops). Never in a creepy invasive kind of way, just catching up, asking how everything is, if they want to hang out. You know, normal chit.

Things never progressed anywhere because they´d very often find excuses to not hang out, cancelling last minute due to whatever. To have a relationship, friendly or more, just over text is BS. I let this slide at first, but then I started to notice that this happened way too often so I cut down on the catching up-chitchat. Now it´d be "Hey, whatsup? Ok, wanna do xyz this weekend?". If they turned it down or bailed last minute two times in a row, I´d just say screw them and move on.

Now here´s the fun part. The same girls who would never contact, never be able to hang out would suddenly take some initiative. NOW they would be all "HEY! Where are you? Why haven´t you talked to me? I miss you"

Me being naive and stupid would ofcourse think that everything was OK now, but they´d soon start relying on me doing 1000% of the work once again. Fell right into the trap so to speak without even realizing it.

So, is it really worth bothering with this "catching up" shit that most of us guys do? I mean if a girl is interested it won´t matter at all in the end anyways no matter how many funny and witty texts you send. I´ve always figured that you should build some sort of rapport first, but I seems as though they just start to take you for granted.

Thoughts? Do you accept that the girl never makes an effort to even say "hey" first?
