Not sure where the surprise is in all this. Give men and women equal opportunity to hook up then of course women will be having more sex. Free sex and the people getting the most is women and alphas.

Actually they are. Its a weird dynamic but about 20% of single men have sex with 80% of single women. These are rough estimates but the point is that a small minority of "high status" men are out banging a majority of the women. The people not having much sex are the 20% of single women who are extremely sexually unattractive, and 80% of regular guys, including average guys.

Now we need is a reporter who has common sense to understand that what is stated in this article are part of the many reasons why men are turning their backs from marriage. Then, that information gets dissipated into the public through mainstream media. After that, maybe, just maybe, there will be some sort of change.

It's ironic that the article says that women are having more partners because they are confident but they're not confident about protecting themselves. If they're not respecting themselves enough to take care of their health first instead of petty validation then this doesn't sound empowering at all. It sounds sad.

I'd be really interested to know how many women accurately inform their current partner of their sexual history. I can see a lot of women boasting about the number of men they've slept with to their girlfriends, but I doubt very many of them would own up to it if their current partner asked them. I was very honest with my SO about my sexual past, and it was pretty easy because I didn't have a lot to hide.

I don't know anyone who would boast to other women about their number! I suppose it happens but God that's awful. I was very open to my husband and the people I've dated before him. I figure, why keep secrets from day 1? what if down the road you marry someone and you weren't honest about things from the beginning?

The fact that that happens blows my mind. I have to wonder if the women reporting those numbers are almost sociopaths. The fact that they're able to do that with no moral qualms, and continue to do it with presumably no emotional connection is honestly kind of disturbing.

Think this study might just be showing difference in gay sex, younger women are having sex with older men, and/or population difference.

In a closed set the if you're just looking at average, not distribution, you're always going to have even averages, the difference has to come from one group going outside the other set. One guy having 500 sex partners and the rest being virgins wouldn't affect this.

A girl sleeps with three different guys. Her partner count is 3, theirs each is 1. You're looking at the set, but the study is of individuals. The math is not difficult. Average the partner count of those girls and guys and the girls have 2 more partners on average. On average, girls are sleeping with a larger number of men. Is it because there are more female sluts, or more male virgins? Probably both. The average says there are more girls sleeping with three guys than there are guys sleeping with three girls. Or, for every alpha who has banged 20 women, there's a slut who has banged 22 guys.

Assuming equal male/female distribution, and they're dropping virgins from consideration.(which the article gave no indication of, those 0's don't disappear in an average) That's a 2/3 virginity rate for women at 21. That don't sound right.

I'm thinking their are more of those girls with that 3 going out and getting 4 and 5 with older guys than their are virgins.

edit: More simply, for every vagina wrapping around a penis, there's a penis going into a vagina. Can't break that duality.
