And I'm wondering, when you say slightly... how generous are you stretching that term? 37 pounds overweight seems more than slightly to me.

Best case scenario: she had to showered that day yet and doing so following sweaty sex with her fat husband was the more sensible option.

Worst case scenario: she's hiding sex bruises from her on again off again side piece.

I and my wife always shower in the evening, no matter if there will be sex or not. Then there is never excuses that she hasn't showered or that I'm not shaved. Also you think you're 30 pounds overweight and just lost 7.When you go on a cut you usually lose 5 right off the bat the first week, then you lose about a pound or 2 a week. You need to have a plan and execute it so that you lose the other 30 in 15 weeks. Go to /r/loseit or /r/keto and see what you need to do. Weigh your food and count your calories. You can drop 30 pounds in 4 months easily. You just need to know what you're doing and have discipline about it.

Back to the point, it sounds like your wife is not attracted to you, hence the shower after sex. She feels dirty after being with you. Sounds harsh but that's the evidence.

My wife showers after sex often. It's a hot, sweaty affair involving body fluids.

She used to insist on the lights being out when she was overweight. Now, she's proud of her body and prefers the lights on, because, and I quote her from last night, "I just like to watch things happen."

it does not matter. just follow the sidebar material and do what is suggested here. it could be that she feels body conscious since you are getting in shape but, then again, it does not matter. MRP is not a therapy psychoanalysis program for living. MRP is based on actions. i recall somewhere a post about a BSG (beta shit goblin) that is what is happening here. stop overthinking and focus on your mission. almost all women have body issues at some point or another. do not make a mountain out of a molehill.

now for the good news: over time and as I became more Alpha of the house and actually lead the relationship, the sex got better... and still is getting better! be the leader of the house, lift, build confidence, cook healthy meals, encourage healthy living, and make sure she knows you think she is sexy from time to time. oh yeah: if lady yoaked gets up to shower after sex, which is totally understandable b/c sex can be sweaty, sometimes i just follow her into the shower and help her get clean. good luck!

My wife did this a lot after our kids were born and she had 20-30 lbs of extra fat on her body. She said she didn't feel sexy.

Push through it and ignore. In fact up the emotion part and play into it. Turn the lights on right after she does and tell her, "Fuck yeah baby I want to see what I'm fucking." Be dominant and assert yourself. Even if she's uncomfortable, that's emotion and emotion is always a good thing.

When I'm getting low enthusiasm I tell my wife "Fuck me like you're my girlfriend, not my wife." First time I said it, she got pissed, punched me in the arm and called me an asshole... then came in gushes.

/u/Archwinger has written about this in a way that pierces my brain every time I see it. Basically, if your wife jumps up after sex immediately washing the awful, yucky semen out of her you can be sure she sees it as Beta semen. Girls wear Alpha semen as makeup and gobble it up like cotton candy- but not that yucky Beta semen.
