Hello ladies,

This is my first post on Reddit (and naturally, this sub) so please forgive me and let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. I've finally reached the point where I needed to express my gratitude to /r/RedPillWomen -- along with my relief that you all exist!

I am young, early twenties, but I'd spent a large chunk of my life so far identifying with what I called "feminism" and other related philosophies. I have a soft heart, and it was easy for me to fall into the trap where everyone is perfect just the way they are.

However, I could never shake the truth from deep within me. While some part of me wanted to insist that all people are equal, I could never stop the questions.
"But isn't it true that working to become a better person gives you more value than people who don't try at all?" "Aren't there biological explanations for the differences between men and women?" "Don't most people become 'great' by working really hard for it? Am I not capable of hard work? What keeps me from being a 'great' person? Why do I settle for what I've been told - that I'm fine the way I am?"

Ultimately, I can not deny what we all already know.

Subconsciously, I believe I've been doing it a long time. For example, I am an avid reader. For many years, I read whichever books appealed to me and entertained me. In high school, I learned the difference between reading for pleasure and reading for analysis. It quickly became apparent to me that all these books I'd previously considered complicated or boring, in fact had something to offer me, if I'd only reach out and take it. Now I am very well read, and not only does this offer ME great satisfaction and contribute to my well-being, but it makes me a more attractive person! Does it get much simpler than that?

Anyway, I don't mean to ramble on and on, but I was simply delighted to find a community of people sharing my most basic beliefs. They are so commonly rejected and hated. No matter how much I benefit from this way of thinking, others around me will continue to insist that I am degrading or belittling myself. I don't believe them, of course, but it is wonderful to see that there is support for someone like me.

I'd like to ask if there are any other ladies who occasionally have to beat the rogue "feminist" thought back into place. This is something I would not call a struggle, but a nuisance. For years, I fed myself a steady diet of so-called equality and acceptance that I now have trouble automatically falling into those thought patterns, and discerning whether it is appropriate. As a kind and trusting young woman, I do believe I should see the good in everyone, and I think I understand my natural urge to believe all people have value. How do I weigh this against my other beliefs?

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you again, ladies!
