Are any of the MRP guys happily married?

I'm happily married. Sure, there are ups and downs (I came here because of a DB), but after 22 years and 3 kids, I am luckier than most.

I don't buy all of the MRP philosophy (and less of the TRP stuff) -- but I think a space where men can share stories and strategies is a good thing. There are a number of excellent voices here from many points on the spectrum, and some have held up a mirror that helped me find some direction at a low point. I've picked at the list of prescriptions and created a plan that suits me and my goals.

Taking better care of myself.
Putting a spark in my sex life.
Picking up the slack with my family.
Taking more control at work.
Establishing boundaries I never had before.

There are many people in much worse situations than I am, and they deserve advice and tools from people who have been down the path. And divorce? Well, sometimes that's the best solution to a bad situation.

Sure, there's locker room talk, plenty of female bashing, and lots of stories about shitty people doing shitty things to each other. You can judge these subs by their worst contributors or their best, that's your call, but we're not all misogynists... some of us (and our wives) are actually happy.

It is not whether you're happy with marriage or your marriage per say. It is a question of if you are happy with yourself being married. I've been together with my wife for almost 18 years, married for for 14 and the longer it goes on the easier it is to walk away.

We are friends(sounds gay), we get along great, she makes 6 figures(as do I), shares in chores(does more actually) and tries for the most part to put the 100% of her half each of us are required to put in to make a relationship work. I am happy in what we have, but like most I wouldn't do it again. It is truly life on hard mode. If not for my children I wouldn't do it again.....

I see a lot of "divorce her, next!" comments, a lot of comments about how much child support and/or alimony sucks, and things like that.

If you were to read more of the content here, you would find men that are in various stage of making themselves and their marriages better. The MRP sub DOES believe in making marriage work, in spite of the rampant bashing that this sub gets from Blue and Purple subs. The language here is a FUCKING men's locker room. The language used on the men and the women can be harsh. If it bothers you, stay out.

You will see the NEXT comment very often when the wife cheats. That should not surprise anyone of any intelligence. Losing access to your children and paying alimony and child support because of a woman's STUPID behavior, would piss any moron off.

I also notice the sidebar about how TRP doesn't recommend marriage.

You are on the wrong sub again. Not TRP. This is MRP, Red Pill on Hard Mode. Men and their LTR's that can be improved. Many here have children and would like to be able to keep their families together.

What the fuck else do you need to know?

Helped start this place after getting told Next! at TRP. I didn't need to next my wife, I needed to man up. I did, and we are quite happy. :)

Purpleveteran there wrote pretty much exactly what I was going to say. Happily married here, though nothing is perfect, and MRP/this sub has some very interesting viewpoints and suggestions (I agree with some, disagree with others). A good chunk of posts are only posted because it's a bad situation, so don't think all the people who read the sub are about to get divorced because that is far from the truth. It's similar to the deadbedrooms sub.

I am very happily married, but then again, my wife has always been a red pill woman. She isn't the typically dysfunctional sexless harpy that most men here are married to.

Happy married guy here, and MRP has enhanced that happiness.

Perhaps my biggest realization from MRP is that what women ask for isn't really what they want: pay attention to what she does, not what she says. Giving a wife the "yes, dear" beta bux lifestyle is what she asks for, and while she may appear briefly happy with that approach, it really DOES NOT work in the long run.

Being beta bux is like giving a child too much candy. The child may ask for the candy and enjoy it while they're eating it, but it will make them cranky and not be good for them in the long run.

It's much better to give her some subtle, covert challenges, make her work for the relationship and outcomes she wants. By improving myself and focusing on my own interests and desires, she also gets a better, more complete husband.

Sure, it is kind of emotionally manipulative, but women have honed their skills at emotional manipulation for millenia. We're just leveling the playing field here.

Happily married here. Found this place after marriage and sex were going downhill after 11 years of marriage (together for 17 years). Still has bumps but the family is happy, she's happier than she's been in ages, and the sex is frequent and of excellent quality.

Most importantly, I'm happy. I've utilized what I've learned on MRP and am making myself better than I thought possible. The rest is following along quite well.

I know I'm late to the party, but I didn't hear anyone say this, so I'm giving my two cents.

Happiness is overrated. I have a job to do with my life, which is to make my little slice of the world my fucking bitch. This includes my marriage. If I can successfully do that job, I'll be happy. But it'll be merely a byproduct of a life well lived.
