You might want to consider climate as well, some states are very cold in the winter and cause higher heating costs.

I recommend Arizona.

State income tax has a credit for giving to charity, so you can give to charity and it is a dollar for dollar payment of your income tax.

Well, remember that wage rates will reflect the cost of living in that area. So sure, it costs less, but you get paid less too. That's why the garbage man in NYC is making 60,000 a year.

Washington state has no income tax, but the libs are always trying to impose one. This despite the voters having rejected the idea five times. However, the Dems are getting better at voter fraud, and with the mail-in balloting they'll be able to manipulate the results any way they want. So I can't recommend Washington.

Some years back a republican candidate actually won the governors race. That is, until some "uncounted ballots" were "found" in the trunk of a car in very liberal Seattle.
