Exactly! Really, you can look feminine even when you don't have a whole lot of money. I have a file room clerk who always compliments my wardrobe and says she wishes she looked like me - I tried to give her helpful encouragement, but it just lead to her doing things like wearing strange-looking skirts over sweatpants. Anyway...
Modesty is a big thing for me. I don't like to show off the goods, and I prefer not to wear pants unless it's something where wearing a skirt or dress would just be a hassle, like biking or helping with heavy projects. I exclusively wear dresses or skirts during the week, even on our casual day. I am very well-endowed so keeping that covered is important to me - I never realized how inappropriate it was til I attended my first trial. Before we went into the courtroom, my attorney pulled me back from our client and yanked my shirt up for me. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I made a conscious effort from that point on.
Apostolic Fashions on Pinterest gives me a lot of inspiration for my wardrobe. I am also a big fan of minimalism, accessories are very important to my wardrobe to switch it up. But again, I keep it very simple - no gaudy jewelry, simple bags, and I specifically purchase shoes that will go with everything in my wardrobe so that I can get away with owning very few shoes.
Those times that I DO have to wear pants or shorts - I usually try to wear a flowy tunic-type top to cover my chest and rear while still maintaining a feminine appearance and comfort for whatever activity is necessitating the pants or shorts. I wear a pair of sturdy cowboy boots for a lot of our outdoor and home work, so I picked a pair with some cute embroidery that are also waterproof.

Absolutely. I think modesty is key to being respected.

I've been thinking a lot about feminine dress. The thing is the flowy pink stuff just isn't my style so I got to thinking about how one can dress feminine without falling into that sort of narrow stereotype. I mean, it's all well and good but it doesn't necessarily work for all women either physically or personality-wise or both. So I went looking for feminine examples in fashion that went outside of the stereotype.
What is your ideal style? What does feminine dress mean to you? And I'd love to see picture examples!

I'm not 100% sure how to add pictures to comments but I think a lot of feminine fashion has to do with deliberate but "dainty" touches. Adding jewelry, layering, cuffing your pants, scarves, and belts all tie your outfit together and elevate it from haphazardly thrown together to polished and put together. It doesn't all have to be pink either haha!

I love #7 and #9 so much!! I wish I could just get a personal shopper and send her pictures of outfits I want, then they just magically show up in my closet in the perfect size with the perfect accessories. Ahhh, that'd be the life!
