Emotions like sadness, stress, high empathy, compassion, tendency toward cooperation, etc. make sense to me, given the selfish gene theory.

The Selfish Gene tl;dr: The claim is made that the gene is the unit of reproduction, and that "selfish" actions of genes can lead to unselfish actions at the organism level.

What about jealousy? The TRP response is that this makes you unattractive and you should not appear jealous. Because jealousy is Beta, and women don't want their sexual partners to be Beta.

To be honest, I don't really understand this. Shouldn't women like guys who keep them locked down and under tight control as sexual partners more? OR we wouldn't feel this emotion and urge.

It makes sense that women wouldn't naturally lock themselves up for a guy, but, sort of like a passive shit test - if you locked me up, i wouldn't mind... if you were alpha, you'd know you could do that to me...

I don't understand jealous feelings and why, if it makes a man unattractive to be jealous and possessive, I feel that way anyway. Please help. I want to be able to channel anything I'm feeling into productive, move-forward type energy.

If I have to start tying women up or upping my control game to channel this the right way, so be it.
