what is the problem here?
societal restrictions were removed so women are using sex to compete against each other
no one is forcing these girls to have sex, they are naturally competing
[–]1aguy0124 points25 points26 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Because when women are going for just sex they choose guys that are out of their league, and the less they will be fucking the bottom 80% of men. If 80% of men are undersexed and unhappy, they tend to become unmotivated and don't strive to achieve potential. Monogamy is a societal construct that forces women to mate with less attractive men, for the good of the race.
[–]manwhy10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
To be fair, if all of the women want (and get) the best genes then it's probably better for the race. It's like this: monogamy trades pure genetic quality (AF) for material resources which is offspring caretaking potential (BB).
Resource abundance means AF is optimal.
Resource scarcity means BB is optimal.
Which is why women have the AF/BB duality. It's called cheating because they're literally cheating the system.
This
is
what
we
like
to
call
progress.
This is pretty much welfare for wealthy people too.
[–]1aguy0110 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Cant tell if youre being sarcastic but most technoligy was developed by men with low smv. The top 20% of men is relative to the men.. There will always be a majority of men that women dont consider for casual sex. Hence the need for monogamy.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Your parent is just pointing out women can go the fuck alpha route because society rewards her so. If the government wasn't there to strongarm and provide for them, more women would go the beta bucks route for stability.
So it's basically the government undermining society itself.
[–]1aguy012 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The government is flying this plane straight into the ground.
[–]manwhy2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
BB can be more attractive than AF. It depends on environmental circumstances. If we had a famine (where people actually can't get enough to eat) and a BB's technology created an abundance of food for himself, that guy would be drowning in pussy.
[–]StillRedder2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
To be fair, if all of the women want (and get) the best genes then it's probably better for the race.
Yes, but even if the bottom 80% (ugly dudes that don't give women gina-tingles) die out eventually, you'll still have AFBB because of hypergamy.
Somewhere in the sidebar there is a hypothetical: If there are only 10 men and 10 women on the planet and all the men make an equal amount of money per year (lets say $1M) then the people will form 10 couples. But if one man makes $1,000, 001, then all the women (because of hypergamy) will vie for his affections.
[–]Posagi6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No money is not the sole factor for smv. If there are only 10 men and 10 women on the planet, you would see someone get more then one woman.
[–]manwhy1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sexual selection is one of the primary methods of natural selection. Sexual selection is evolutionarily so advantageous (to the gene pool) that it's worth it to halve the number of maternal individuals in the gene pool.
Hypothetical: there are 100 sea worms, 50 male and 50 female. To maintain a population of 100 sea worms, one female sea worm has to produce at least two offspring. If all 100 were females capable of reproducing themselves, each sea worm would need only to have one offspring.
It's doubly as costly, yet we see two genders in basically every complex life-form on the planet. Sexual selection will never die.

It's such a great time to be alive, if you are a man. Just reading this makes me wish I was 16, had found TRP, and was already into weightlifting, dressing up, and approaching. You can live like a king with very little effort.
That being said, it annoys me that even as a feminist, she still fails to see the hypocrisy of blaming men for this. "Men aren't committing to these sweet girls that have hooked up with the entire football team. Shame on these men!" Um, because it's actually the girls doing this? They are addicted to the validation and attention of the higher value men their age. Does she make note of the bottom 80% of guys looking for genuine relationships and being ignored? Does she blame the women for not being able to resist the allure of attention and validation so that the men would have no choice but to commit? Does she feel like it's even 0.01% women's fault?
Believe me, I know the answer. That answer is no.
[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Where does she blame the men for this?
Seems like she has realized the hypocrisy of her position.
It is true I find this issue a conundrum, one that tests my own moral boundaries and ethics. As a feminist, I agree I should be supporting young women to live their lives the way they wish; reinforcing the idea that it is their bodies and their choices.
I find the whole issue funny to be honest. I have had this debate with girls before who point out my hypocrisy that since I have slept with a lot of people but I reject partners that have.
The one thing they can never get past is my reply "Because I don't want to" Sure is it hypocritical that I have slept with a lot of girls but don't want a partner who has. However they are trying to dictate to me who I select as a partner and quite frankly seem to be more annoyed that most good catches have scratched them off as a potential partner. Since I can find girls with low partner counts to me it isn't an option, why would I take the town bike when I don't have to.
[–]2popthatpill9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn't give her too much credit for that bit of self-awareness. Basically what she's saying is "gee, if women keep up this sluttery the BB won't be waiting around for them when they get off the carousel". She's just complaining that women might not be able to have their cake and eat it too.
Sure is it hypocritical that I have slept with a lot of girls but don't want a partner who has.
My view has always been that pushing a woman for sex is the male equivalent of a shit test (ie. something you do to determine the other person's value, but if they fail it, you still get something valuable out of it). A man who wants to spin plates but doesn't want to get married to a slut is morally no different to a woman who has hordes of beta orbiters (ie. guys who failed shit tests) but only wants to marry an alpha.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
No I am just saying I can't see her blaming men anywhere for that. In fact it looks like she realizes that men don't want a relationship with girls like that and it is a side effect of over the top feminism. Not giving her credit just saying I can't see her blaming anything apart from the girls acting this way is a side effect of feminism.
All I know is I don't want a girl who has slept around. They are more prone to cheating and I couldn't be bothered with it.
[–]beltwaytr0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Let's not forget your dick is more than likely to melt off if you shack up with someone who's been with a high amount of men.
[–]Burner1701-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
and you know that because you've slept around a lot and know you will be prone to cheating.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Nope never cheated myself. The data speaks for itself though.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Although I agree with you, more prone to cheating doesn't mean you cheated, just like you being more prone to diabetes doesn't mean you actually have diabetes.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Of course, but if you are prone to diabetes you should really be looking at your sugar intake. Just like with girls who have slept around you should be evaluating whether or not to enter a relationship with them.
It's being proactive and avoiding problems in the future.
[–]Burner17010 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If it's a reason for men to avoid promiscuous women for LTRs it's also a reason for women to avoid promiscuous men for LTRs.

The abstract only talks about women. Does the full articlecontain data that men who have had lots of casual sex before marriage (or a LTR) are less likely to cheat than women who have had lots of casual sex before marriage (or a LTR).
I am not looking at getting into a relationship with a man so I don't care really.
[–]TRP VanguardCyralea2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It doesn't seem like she's quite accepted it. She sees the hypocrisy, but won't do away with the part that's causing the most cognitive dissonance, which is that having the choice to sleep around indiscriminately is not a good thing. Notice how she struggles with it:
"As a feminist, I agree I should be supporting young women to live their lives the way they wish; reinforcing the idea that it is their bodies and their choices. But, perhaps because I have also have been talking to a lot of young men lately who are either participating in or witnessing hook-up culture, I must confess I am left in despair"
You can feel the hamster wheel spinning up looking for a mental exit.

I don't know about approaching because I don't do that yet, but I found TRP when I was 16 and I'm nearly 18, been going to the gym hard for like 6 months now and honestly I still haven't gotten any results, even with an RP mindset, just because I'm not in the right social circles. Gym has its place and I would still definitely do it even if I was popular but being friends with the right people + being happy > being fit, as far as I've seen anecdotally. Still in frustration stage I guess, I feel like all this work has been for nothing while my popular friends are getting laid just cause they're friends with the right people. Ah well, in it for the long haul.
[–]trpsavvy3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
In order to sleep with women it would be well-advised to approach them. Self-improvement is masturbation when not properly leveraged. Start approaching college-aged women, start getting rejected, and start building the confidence needed to leverage the smv you're building in the gym.
Game is as much a part of trp as lifting. Approaching is lesson one. Accepting rejection & maintaining frame are pills one must swallow. Now spin those plates.
[–]O3EAN0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I did approaching for a while last year and it was fun but I pussied out after like 7 approaches over a couple months. I'd rather go to the bars/clubs when I'm older where there's a higher volumes of hotter girls that I can get experience talking to and I don't waste hours looking for a decent looking girl.
Edit: funny story, approached a hot blonde girl with her friends and sat down and talked to them for like five minutes and got her number, walked off and tried to text her something and realised I didn't save her number properly and it wasn't in my phone XD
[–]StillRedder2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
By the time you're going to bars and clubs you'll be far behind the guys that approached in high school and college.
7 approaches in a couple of months isn't a bad start but head on over to /r/100sets and you'll see that some people get over their AA pretty quickly because approaching becomes easy when that's all you're focusing on. Eventually, when your approach is down, you'll get to the #-close, k-close, and f-close.
Start out small. The earlier the better.
Are you not approaching? If not, your work is not going to be recognized. Girls do NOT approach unless you are a 9+ in looks or status (think fame or male model). Otherwise, it's up to you. Make the most of it.

Thanks for posting. The bro lifting crowd gets a little crazy, I'm not sure why they'e always putting so much effort into trying to convince everyone that if you lift women will magically drop into your lap.
It's good to be in shape, but social skills and connections are always more important than lifting. Always.
Having sex is great and all, but don't make it your only motivation. If you work out, socially interact just for sex you're not living. You're just another one of those thirsty bastards out there ruining it for themselves and others. Do what you do for you, not for popularity, friends and especially not for women. You'll get a lot more action just by living your life on your terms.

Ok...to be fair here, this sounds like a bit of apex fallacy.
In these stories girls describe sleeping with "men". In reality the odds are good they're all only sleeping with the top 20% of men, and those guys are probably more than just getting into shape, dressing up, and approaching. They're the quarterback on the football team, the lead singer in the band, etc etc.
I bet you the girl who's slept with 7 guys has hooked up with almost exactly the same 7 guys as her friends have. It's a great time to be the king, but I bet the lower 80% is just as bad off if not worse than they were before.
But in this context, I'm specifically talking about the top 20%. That's what the principles of TRP are about, making yourself as attractive as possible. It's definitely the Apex Fallacy. Be part of the top 20% or don't; the choice really is up to you.
[–]n4cer1261 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I can't see how she's blaming men for this. It certainly does look like she's doing her damndest to but whether she wants to or not she has come to terms that it's women and the choices they are making that's responsible for their shitty romantic lives.
By today's standards this is a display of enlightened awareness. Maybe a sign of progress? Nah won't go that far but perhaps the collective female self-delusion is beginning to wane
[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's a subtle undertone. She isn't outright blaming men, but:
"myth or not, there does appear to be a dearth of eligible men" (we know this is only a result of hypergamy, not men's fault)
"You have to be hot to attract a guy" (again, ignoring the bottom 80%)
"That the trust, tenderness and affection that I was offered in my sexual first encounters is not always afforded to girls today by porn-educated young men" (implying that it's guys' desires that are driving today's sexual market).
She has not, in any respect, taken any of the blame onto women. It's typical ego-shielding. Feminine imperative FTW
I thought she was blaming for the girls for having so little self respect.
I don't think you actually read the article.

"Of all the young girls I’ve spoken to recently, I’d say 90 per cent told me they want to get married and have kids one day. All implied they are aware that men are less likely to commit than in generations past, yet all still wanted to be an exception to this rule.
Few believe their actions now will reduce their chances of this happening, and I sincerely hope it is the case. More than that, I hope they don’t end up feeling powerless when it comes to love."

No idea, perhaps the indoctrination is much stronger there. From what I've read/been told, feminism and leftism in general is far more strident and militant in Oz than in the US, probably a strain carried over from Britain that metastasized without experiencing the cultural depression Britain did after losing the Empire.
The silly thing is, SE Asian sex tourism is a relatively quick "weekender" trip for Australians, unless there's no analog for easyJet/jetBlue/Southwest/etc.
[–]1neveragoodtime2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A complete inability to connect the dots of why men are less likely to commit in generations past, as though todays' men are commitment-phobic. It's stated right in the article, the guys aren't going to date these sluts, their just enjoying the free pussy being thrown their way. The solution these girls come up with? Turn the slut dial to 11, that'll lock him down. And the author still can't bring herself to the moral position that as an adult, it is her duty to teach these underage children that they are making terrible life choices.

This stuff has been going on for a long time. The only difference is today the teens have mobile internet devices. Other than that, it is just the same old thing, different generation.
They slut it up with a small percentage of men when they're young, then try to find a beta to take care of them and their baggage when they get older. It is the never ending story.
Some will find the beta bucks (then probably divorce him), others won't and will complain that there aren't any good men, and how men don't want to "man up" to take care of them and their baggage from past relationships.
[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This stuff is only as old as modern contraception, feminism, no-fault divorce, and societal slut-shaming, all measures that used to keep female hypergamy and sexual behavior in line. It is only absent these measures, such as we have in western society today, that women can be absolved of any consequence for their actions.
Fuck a random guy raw-dog? On the pill, who cares?
Got an STD anyhow? Penicillin and modern medicine, who cares?
Forgot your pill and got pregnant? Abortion or Child support, who cares?
Uneducated slut with bastard kids? Welfare, Section 8 housing, and food stamps, who cares?
Got married and now you're unhaaaapy (no more tingles)? No-fault divorce followed by vaginamony, who cares?
Just remember, this is what we as society call "progress".

This story has been running in the media since the teen was invented. Probably in the 20s.
The story is always the same, kids today are fucking like crazy. Way more than we ever did.
Well, I doubt it. If anything, they're more chaste if teen pregnancy rates are anything to go by.
As a young man, I looked forward to the no-strings-attached casual sexcapades that I thought lurked around the next grade, but they never came.
What, the media betrayed me?
The reality is that women have always offered their vagina for...whatever. Male female relationships have always been, at their base, transactional. Women have something to sell. Men need to offer something in return.
Cue all the well-I-fuck-all-the-time-old-man comments:
Teen pregnancy rates are lower because of more widely available birth control, not because teens today are less sluttier than in decades past.
[–]weirdnamedindian[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Morr access to birth control and also no guilt abortion in Australia is the reason for the drop in teen pregnancy rates, not more chaste teeens today.
