Just read her article. It's only "nuanced" if nuanced means "requires mental gymnastics" to seriously believe it.

All sorts of victim blaming, shifting goal posts, and equivocation. For instance:

  • 15 year old kid with autism = same amount of agency and self awareness as a college student without autism.

  • Victim defends tormentors so it must not be that bad.

  • Knife to throat = game gone wrong.

  • Aspergers is not really autism.

All of this under a column titled "What women really think."

Honestly, "the utter lack of empathy for others" is only so frank if you're trying to look for it. There is so much other shit to deflect to and refer to in order to keep it under the radar that it's very hard for the average human being to discern what is and what isn't blatant abuse of power.

Nice word but no I don't think my point of view is the only one. People, myself included often relate things to their own lives. This is selfish but very common. I read the original article and this one pretty much calls out all the flaws. Indeed, when Rosin says that Michael showed poor judgment like other young people, that is simply victim blaming, the same kind feminists abhor when it comes to rape victims. Rosin' literally relying on the testimony of an autistic child to prove her point (I never actually thought such a phrase was more than an insult but I guess you can never put anything past a feminist).

At any rate, Rosin's hamstering but she probably doesn't think she's being deliberately misleading. Since she's a woman, she empathizes with the emotions and behaviors of the girls and since she's gotten away with it in the past, she probably thinks they should too. And since she's gotten away with things by blaming men, why should she change now?

This is what happens when you ignore stupidity and hypocrisy: everyone around you abuses the privilege of being stupid.
