Wow, Slate published a semi-reasonable article.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Sure, I'd guess women are raped more than men, but the insane statistics feminists like to use (e.g., that common claim that 1/4 of women get raped) are absolutely false. They either just plain fabricate these statistics or twist the definition of "rape" to include anything a guy does that makes a girl "uncomfortable." But then if you use the same definition of "rape" for both men and women, the numbers even out again.

Rape (Sane people's definition): Forced and often violent sexual contact.

I've also noticed that with some other liberal outlets like the Atlantic... the whole point is to get page views for ad revenue, so occasionally stirring the pot and outraging the audience makes them money. Then they go back to their usual business model: telling the audience what it wants to hear.

The statistic actually says 1/4 of women are sexually assaulted, which I totally believe, as sexual assault can be as much as seeing a man streaking. If anyone says 1/4 of women are raped they're lying.

Exactly... They did a follow up survey and found out 60% of the "victims" ended up having another voluntary sexual encounter with their "attacker". It's an insult when these people try to group in an unwanted slap on the ass and aggressive rape into the same category. Not only is it misleading, but it hurts all their credibility.

The actual statistic is closer to 1/16 of women being legitimately sexually assaulted.

The feminist who conducted the study that would later be used by the CDC blatantly manipulated the data once she didn't get the results she wanted.

A strong, independent woman don't need no man, or no facts.

Even so, that statistic is fabricated. A non-trivial portion of the women surveyed to produce the 1 in 4 statistic did not consider themselves victims. The wording they used was awkward if not outright intended to inflate their numbers.

“Made to penetrate” is an awkward phrase that hasn’t gotten any traction. It’s also something we instinctively don’t associate with sexual assault. But is it possible our instincts are all wrong here? We might assume, for example, that if a man has an erection he must want sex, especially because we assume men are sexually insatiable.

I take it back. Rape culture exists.

If men were to use the same criteria to define sexual harassment as women do, then you could probably say that men get harassed more than females. Shit, if I was so inclined, I could say I was sexually harassed by many drunk women out at the bars...random girls grinding their assess on me, unprovoked? or grabbing my junk on the dance floor, or even just in passing? Or telling me I'm sexy? If you were to reverse the genders? Harassment! The difference is, women are brazen in these acts because they know that

  1. They can't possibly be brought up on charges , and

  2. We tend not to think much of these things, usually it's just a nice ego boost.

We discuss it here pretty often, women are the gatekeepers of sex, and man are the gatekeepers of commitment.

A womans sexuality(?) holds way more value to society than a man's, because it is not a product that we can easily use to our benefit.

By taking away an ass grab, a boob squeeze, or raping a woman, you are taking away for free one of the things that she can profit from the most.

Same thing for a man? Eh... not that he is losing anything of value anyways.

The article does point to some good facts and misconceptions about rape but it is not as significant as the title would imply. If you read through it, 46% of the rape where the men are the victim are done by other men. In other words, 54% are women. Combine that with the 38% of all rapes have a male victim, you basically have 17.48% of all rape cases being done by women on men.

The reason why I bring this up is because women will react to this article by radicalizing even more for the sake of maintaining a political face by blaming "patriarchy": that since more men-on-men rapes occur, it must be the men's faults. They will disregard the 17% number by stating that more men on women rapes occur (although several other articles would suggest that men on women happen as much as women on men). They will see this article as nothing more than an enabler and will not change their opinions the slightest.

So this article is not as powerful an ammunition against the blue pill ideas out there. It is just fat to chew on that will go no where. However, for people who are on the borderline between TRP and blue pill, this should make them question their assumptions even more.

Exactly.

The feminists have conflated sexual assault with rape in a real funny way. They are very careful to say something like:

"Rape culture in the US is a major problem, 1 in 4 women report being sexually assaulted".

Right there they conflate rape, which is relatively rare, with sexual assault. While sexual assault is indeed bad, it is not nearly as bad as rape. I have seen some of the surveys used to come up with these numbers and sexual assault is very loosely defined. Some will define sexual assault as unwanted contact while dancing at a club. Nearly all of the definitions also conflate rape with "drunk sex" and "regret sex" to inflate their numbers.

I have seen feminist groups quote numbers as high at 50% of women are sexually assaulted using the same jedi mindfuck statements.

How bad is it?

I was recently on a college campus at a human rights forum. One of the sessions was on LBQT rights. Of course the campus Women's Studies professor had to present about "Rape Culture" on college campuses in the LBQT rights session. After citing bullshit statistics likes these and focusing how men must be re-educated about what consent is, a gentleman in the audience raised his hand and calmly asked:

"Thank you very much for your presentation. I couldn't help but notice that you didn't mention the rape of men in your presentation at all. What can we do as a community to prevent the rape of men and women?"

Holy shit, she got angry out and went full on hamster on the guy. "Men are never raped, I have been studying rape for 20 years and I have never heard of a man being raped. Even if it did happen, 25% of women are being raped, and almost no men are being raped", she growled at him.

He calmly pointed out.

"I'm sorry Dr. X, but your facts are mistaken. In a recent study..." [I forgot to write the study down] "...it was pointed out that 1/4 women are not raped, but is closer to a few percent. The number you are citing is a measure of sexual assault, which we can both agree is bad, but is not rape. Moreover, the work by..." [another I forgot to write down] "...it was reported that similar numbers of men are raped by other men and women. In fact, if you consider the rape of young boys it has been argued that boys and men are raped more often than girls and women. Anecdotally, we know this to be true and often covered up. Last year Jerry Sandusky was convicted of raping numerous boys, many of which still have not come forward. This happened on a college campus for several decades and was covered up by the Penn State administration. So at least at Penn State it would be reasonable to assume that men and women were raped at roughly equal rates".

At this point, she totally flew off the handle and started yelling at him for nearly 5 minutes. My favorite quote was

"What Jerry Sandusky did to those boys was not rape...".

The gentlemen in the audience calmly replied.

"So someone using a position of authority to abuse a boy is NOT rape, but if the same thing happened to a woman or a girl, then it would be rape? Is this not a double standard?"

And then she got even more angry and start ranting at this guy in such an incomprehensible manner that she didn't even make sense.

Just goes to show you how useless Womyn's studies majors are... You would think if you spent 20 years studying rape that you'd have at least some rational explanation to counter some of those common criticisms but no... it's just hamster to the speed of light.

Is there not a board for MRA? Redpill is NOT about feeling sorry for yourself. Man half the time when a woman talks about being raped you MRA will say "She just regrets it" but when its a man you guys all gather around and say "look! Totally legit! We suffer just as much!" It's so damn hypocritical. This is why I fucking hate MRA and Feminists. Both groups are a bunch of whiny little shits.

How does this help us become better people? How is this taking an honest and difficult approach to the truth? It's not. It's just pity-wanking. If you get out of your basement, take off your fedoras and start doing something with your life you will very quickly want nothing to do with MRAs or Feminists. Is life completely fair for anyone? No. Will the world screw over if it can? Yes.

Suck it up and make the best of it. It could be worse, you could have been born a genetic defect who slobbers on himself and shits his pants. But instead you're a functioning person and spend your time trying to prove how hard life is for your gender and how the feminists don't get it. Jesus fucking christ.

Not all of their data is actually very new but it is wonderful that this is getting traction outside of MRA blogs. Maybe some day feminists won't be able to silence male rape victims in the MSM.
