"Your rights end where my feelings begin". I thought it was just a joke about Liberal ideology.

I love how they make SRS the victim when their sole existence is to be a downvote brigade.

So true...

[–]Piroko 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

A substantial number of Reddit admins are SomethingAwful members.

Publically, yeah.

But if you can get someone talking about what they do... you'll find that quite a few SA members are tech workers. Disgruntled tech workers who work at various fortune 500 companies and vent their frustrations about work at the internet thanks to the perceived anonymity.

[–]Gentle-Mang 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's a shame, SA used to be a source of 'inappropriate' comedy. It's a ghost of its former self now.

It correlates with events as I remember them. I remember the woman's space raids, the /r/lgbt drama that basically spawned SRD, I've seen pictures of Lauralai sitting with members of Lulzsec, etc.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think not. When all is said and done, TRP 50% about relationship advice, 25% evolutionary psychology, and 25% complaints about problems modern men are facing, this is on the whole much, much more within the mainstream acceptable domain than open racism. Those guys aren't even trying to be borderline respectable, they chose the worst racist word in America as their subreddit title, instead of something like caucasianrights, something more respectable. If /r/theredpill would be called /r/bitches there would be reasons to worry.

And Reddit admins are white guys with white guilt, but not fat feminists.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

TIL, /r/bitches exists

[–]strontiumdog 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They aren't a white supremacist group though...So suggestion of 'caucasianrights' is sorta missing the point.

Also speaking as someone from outside America it's interesting that you claim nigger is seen as "the worst racist word in America" by some because it seems that the majority of urban blacks in the US use that term like it's going out of fashion.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am also outside from America, but I called this the worst racist word in America because all the white liberal Americans I know go totally apeshit if a white person even if just thinks about uttering it. Really funny they just get hysterical, pulse 200, hyperventilating. I haven't seen such a visceral reaction to anything else, not even to stuff like KKK hoods.

[–]MaunaLoona 16 points16 points16 points 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Reddit admins are liberal kids who hate men's rights and side with SRS. They hate themselves and look for any chance to self-flagellate themselves for their male privilege.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Judging from their selective enforcement of the rules (e.g. looking the other way when SRS downvote brigrades), this is quite obvious. This whole article is dripping with bias since SRS has been downvote brigading for a long time (and has a reputation outside the Fempire as an annoying sub to put it gently).

“First they came…”

[–]TUVegeto137 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know how that is surprising. Reddit is not built on the principle of free speech. It's built on the principle of aristocratic speech. Aristocracy means the rule of the best. It doesn't matter if the best were elected by the gods or the people, it's still an aristocracy. And those that are not among the elected are ostracized at worst, tolerated or ignored at best.

Freedom of Speech is a right, but not in private areas. This isn't the government saying no, it's the people whose servers you're using.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This isn't a first amendment issue, but it reflects upon the Reddit admin's principles.

[–]Pecanpig -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So what exactly isn't considered private? From what I can tell just about everything is considered private or government owned which is just as good/bad.

Has a single subscriber from here been shadowbanned? If not, this is just fearmongering. There isn't any similarity between this subreddit and /r/niggers and no reason to assume that we're linked in the minds of the admins.

Want to stay off of their radar? Implement the np link like the rules state, and don't flood people at the other end of the link with downvotes or overwhelming comments. The /r/niggers people went into /r/blackgirls and overwhelmed them with racist posts so that the regular subscribers had to go to a different subreddit. It's actions like those that got them on the admin's radar, and once they got on, it was only a matter of time before more slip ups happened.

So they may have cleaned up their act some over the last week or two, but let's not pretend that they did absolutely nothing to get on the radar in the first place. If we don't want to be like that sub, we can simply avoid emulating it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There isn't any similarity between this subreddit and /r/niggers

When /r/niggers is brought up in a thread in a major subreddit, someone almost always follows up with /r/TheRedPill and people circlejerk about how bad the niggers subreddit is and how evil the red pill is.

[–]redpillaccount 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This.

/r/niggers is public enemy number one. It just so happens that this sub started to rise in popularity pretty much at the same time as /r/niggers. That makes this sub public enemy number two.

This sub and /r/niggers are the two most prominent subs that question the established narrative and thus are the primary targets.

[–]rapscallionx 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I feel like their needs to be an outlet for communication that is moderated by the community not by a few specific individuals. It would be nice to see a program that you downloaded on your computer where things were stored versus relying on the continued cooperation of site staff. This isn't a very well thought out position on my part... but I think communication shouldn't be controlled regardless of what is being said. We need to find a way to cut out the middle man that seems to find it's way into every human endeavor.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The "Darknet" thing that was going on for a while (they may have changed the name, haven't followed it in a while) seemed promising. The idea was to remove the requirement for centralized servers and utilize encrypted peer-to-peer as a communications medium.

As the government and corporations realize that their normal mind control devices (TV, print, etc) are becoming less useful, they will start "protecting" us from "hate speech" more and more.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

I happen to be a member of both communities (I'm only subbed to 5 subreddits but I read everything in all of them), and it's such a hypocratic stance the reddit admins are taking with this. Shadowbans, closing subreddits, etc... At the end of the day, what's expressed in this subreddit and /r/niggers (not that they're comparable in content) is just an opinion.

They're censoring an opinion that they happen to disagree with. You could call it racist, bigotry, misogyny, or whatever you want but it's still an opinion that someone holds and as long as those people aren't hurting anyone with their opinion they're entitled to have it and voice it just like anyone else. This subreddit doesn't promote any kind of criminal behavior and neither does /r/niggers. It's simply a forum to share your views with like minded individuals.

If you're interested, there was a thread in /r/drama about /r/TheRedPill and /r/niggers being bigots or whatever slander they want to use and I tried to reach out to them to get people to see things with a different perspective and there was some very interesting back and forths. Link to comment thread here.

I must admit that I feel a certain obligation to consider racist arguments now that I've taken the red pill and am trying to focus on looking at the evidence, not wishful thinking.

I still think that racists are wrong, but I have to dismiss them with evidence and reasoning, not automatic contempt.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Science is hardly ever politically correct.

[–]TRP VanguardWhisper 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

True.

However, just because the scientific is not politically correct does not mean that being politically incorrect makes you scientific.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also true.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Unfortunately that's not a battle you're going to win, the statistics for crime are overwhelmingly against blacks, so much so that they're called 'hate stats' for saying that blacks commit far more crimes than any other race. /r/niggers is very similar to the red pill in that once you see it, there's almost like a point of no return, so if you do think that 'racists' are wrong then you might want to bury your head in the sand on this one because once you start looking at numbers, you're not going to want to believe it.

By the way, I'm not generalizing and saying all blacks are criminals or that I hate blacks, but once you look at some of the crime stats,(or STD numbers, or any other social stat) it's hard not paint a negative picture against blacks.

[–]TRP VanguardWhisper 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think perhaps I interpret those statistics differently than you do. Allegations of racial inferiority require not just an observation of circumstance, but an inference of cause.

Subreddit rules, however, preclude discussions like this as off-topic at the very least. So if you wish to convince me that some races are significantly inferior to others, either intellectually or behaviourally, you'll have to switch to private message.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Wtf is /r/niggers anyway? Is it the online version of the kkk? I always second guess myself when an overt racist believes the same things I do... if it's purely racist why just blacks?

Pls respond.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

blacks are generally seen as being the worst of the races by people who categorize that way

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

/r/niggers reminds me of www.stuffwhitepeoplelike.com as well as /r/shitredditsays, but only politically incorrect as it makes fun of black people instead of white people.

Note: I'm no fan of either /r/shitredditsays or /r/niggers. There's just too much hate in this world and I see these as opposites of the same coin.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

/r/niggers is not just racist whites. there is a large population of hispanics and blacks that despise gangbangers and theyre entire way of life

also, > implying hatred against the black version of trailer trash is racism

[–]un-affiliated 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

NASALT. (Not all subscribers are like that). It's 95% racist whites, which even a cursory glance of the subreddit will tell you, despite the public relations arm which tries to couch it in terms of "culture" or "satire" when outside the subreddit. There is no real attempt to do so inside the subreddit.

Black people don't go around calling each other chimps. Non-racists are capable of thinking an action was bad without making it the responsibility of everyone else in the world who didn't perform that action but has a similar skin tone. Also, If it was only actions that you didn't like, you would spend as much time focusing on whites and other nationalities who perform those same actions, instead of only noticing when people with dark skin do it.

The numbers overwhelmingly support the notion that blacks are far more criminal than any other race, far more impoverished than any other race, and have far more STD's than any other race. The facts and stats are so overwhelmingly against blacks that they are dubbed 'hate stats' and 'hate facts'. You read that correctly, facts and stats are considered racist just because they are against black people. Everyone has been making excuses for black people for decades and that's why they can't change, if they were forced to face their problems in their community maybe they could work together to rectify some of the issues they face instead of burying their collective heads in the sand and being told everyday by white-guilt wimps that nothing they do is wrong and everyone else is racist and stats are racist and facts are racist and the police are racist.

[–]strontiumdog 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why don't you take the time to look at it yourself...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For some reason, I can't follow over 18 links...

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

/r/niggers is basically just a reaction to the fact that black-on-white crimes get ignored in america but white-on-black crimes always get blown out of proportion. There's a strong feeling there that black people have a lot of benefits that white's don't have, affirmative action that type of thing. If you go there and pose a question you won't be treated with disdain you will have your question answered, probably with the support of some statistics and you can interpret that as however you wish. We don't bash people with different beliefs, you can think niggers are the greatest thing in the world and do no harm it means nothing to us, but if you want to look at things differently you should visit.
