Makes me shiver to think about what I didn't know about my exes pasts (when I was blue pill).

I'll point out that if she is bipolar then she is mentally ill. Part of it is having periods of having almost no inhibitions (amongst other things). There's rationalisation in the thread, but there's a difference between being a common or garden slut and having a mental illness that amplifies any intrinsic sluttitude.

You know, there was a woman who was drugging her child and posting pictures on facebook. Everybody on reddit pointed out the disorder's name. There's a name for doing this. There is a diagnosis for a woman that does terrible things to her child.

You know what they call a man who does terrible things? An abuser.

He doesn't get a medical scapegoat.

Explain to me why there's a mental illness diagnosis for just about anything that might hold a woman culpable for her actions.

It's because the stereo type of women as inately good, harmless and nuturing is so ingrained in our culture that people need to have a rationale for female abusers. Without an explanation for why the abuse happens they can't confront the reality of it. This is especially true when mothers abuse their children.

Never said she wasn't culpable, but certainly BPAD is a mitigating factor. Bipolar Affective Disorder won't turn a chaste loving wife into a slut. It reduces inhibitions and inhibits fear; if she's interested in having sex with strangers, but doesn't because of social pressure or fear of pregnancy, BPAD will act against the social pressure and fear, allowing but not causing her to sleep around.

Background is also a factor. I took a history from a guy with BPAD who had a loving stable family but moved around a lot (dad was military). His hypo-mania made him one of the best men in his field of work. He only had a breakdown when external factors built up a lot of stress on the job.

I'm not saying BPAD is an excuse for anything, rather it's a partial explanation.

I've seen all of this nonsense typically come with either women that are bipolar or BPD. How would a guy go about realizing this and avoiding this. In almost everyone of these fucked up headcase cheating, slutting up scenarios they end up being either bipolar or borderline. Like I can tell when someone is recapping their actions, but how would you tell IRL?

The same way you tell if a woman is into you in the first place; watcher her behavior closely. If you're worried, read up on the symptoms of these disorders and watch for indicators in the women you are involved with.

Considering I don't have to read an entire thread of other things you've responded to to validate the comment I was replying to, here's the thing.

Manic-depression makes you desire certain things at certain times much more than your avg. person.

I may crave excessive amounts of alcohol at one moment, and then crave sweet relief via the jump off a tall building.

That does not absolve responsibility for any of those actions. That woman, like myself, as agency. When ever I feel the alcoholic super-urge coming on I keep myself in my apartment and I write and listen to music so that the substance doesn't control me. She could act with agency and not go out or call an ex, it's that simple.

I did notice that you mention that someone in that position should get help and therapy to get past thier problem, and this is true.

The problem was your initial comment which acts as a way of giving her an excuse. You may not believe that as a person, but your initial comment did communicate that. It makes you seem ignorant and it's counter to helping people get past it. I may misunderstand the initial comment when in the context of all the other comments (which I'm not linked to) but you still wrote an ignorant comment. From my perspective that's not a misunderstanding I'm reacting to emotionally, that's you poorly communicating.

Indeed, but there's a difference between that which is self-diagnosed, and that which is real. One woman may slut it up and claim to have a disease, another may actually have it and slut it up but only during her manic phase.

How to tell the difference:

Someone with real BPAD will suffer manic and depressive episodes periodically. She may or may not slut it up during mania, depending on whether she has those traits normally. She will be generally uninhibited as well, having little personal space, talking loudly and changing subject often. During the depressive phase, she is unlikely to want to have sex at all, even with alphas.

Someone with real BPAD will most likely regret her actions during mania (it contributes to the depressive phase). She is unlikely to say that she thinks it's fine to sleep around or rationalise it away and unlikely to claim BPAD is a get out of jail free card.

Someone with real BPAD will receive a diagnosis from a psychiatrist with a medical degree and be on treatment (Lithium works very well)

BPAD is not a gendered diagnosis; men get it as well. Sexual inhibition is a symptom, but it depends on the person's personal traits. If she's not a slut, she won't be more of a slut during her manic phase.

I'm not suggesting it's a good idea to get into a relationship with a girl with BPAD (it's not), just that it's something beyond general sluttitude. There are plenty of euthymic women who rationalise promiscuity enough. They are the ones saying what that girl did was perfectly fine. If she listened to their rationalisation, then she wouldn't seek psychiatric help. Only by pointing out the absurdity of her behaviour can she wake up to it.

I wouldn't even call this rationalization. The girl knows what she did and she doesn't seem to be trying to absolve herself of responsibility for her actions. Quite the opposite, actually: she feels terrible because of how people will judge her based on her decisions.

If there's anything to be learned here it's if you inquire about a chick's sexual history and she says, "You don't want to know," it may be better to remain ignorant.

That's how they behave with their current boyfriends when they're fielding new "guy friends" as well. The boyfriend either doesn't need to know or be mentioned, or "you're just friends".

Many women are adept at this sort of deceit even if they come across as entirely cute and innocent. It used to blow my mind but I have some dates scheduled with "taken" women, yet again. It's becoming business as usual.

I'm not saying girls can't sleep around and have a little fun, but having unprotected one night stands with a dozen+ men at the age of 18 is not something most men find attractive in a woman and it doesn't really bode well for her prime years. It's her prerogative, sure, and it might suit some women fine, but I think most red pillers recognize that biology dictates that most women will want to settle down and have children some day. There are exceptions for sure, but you can't really fight biology without hormone treatment.

When a woman focuses on her career and sleeping around until she's over 30 she's most likely going to price herself out of the market. She's about to lose her ability to have children, she's losing her youthful looks, if she's been sleeping around a lot she's most likely at least a little bit jaded. I'm simply saying that strategy is not optimal. She might still land a good guy, but compared to what she could get a few years earlier, she's settling. This was a bit short and possibly not convincing, but there's a really good article around here that explains it better in a few more words.

To answer your earlier question... we are using sexual psychology to our advantage. We aren't condemning sexual psychology, we are condemning the current culture that DENIES sexual psychology. We are working within the system as it currently exists to get the most out of it. That means a lot of us are sleeping around, because it's easy, and our culture is not pumping out wife suitable women. In the absence of a meaningful long term relationship, sex is better than no sex. That being said, I would much prefer to find a keeper and keep her, but I don't really expect that to happen in this climate.

Granted, but if we're going address that specific case lets not lose sight of the fact that she was in the middle of a manic episode. Her mental illness is what doesn't bode well for her future, not simple promiscuity.

I had a friend in highschool who was bi-polar, he would do crazy, stupid, reckless crap when he went off his meds. He got arrested more than once. This chicks sexcapades are realtively tame by comparison.

And we should note, she's not letting herself off the hook. She knows that her behavior was reckless and stupid and took responsibility for it.

I'm not talk about it like her "episode" was controlling her. I'm acknowledging that her mental illness compromised her judgement and thus reduced her culpability. That friend of mine who got arrested; he never did time anytime because the courts recognized his reduced culpability.

A bi-polar individual in the midst of a manic episode will often believe they are infailible and/or invincible. To them it seems like nothing can ever go wrong, and even their most stupid ideas seem like brilliant plans. Be honest; if you were invincible and nothing could go wrong for you, what would you do with that kind of power?

Having a crap load of unprotected sex with willing partners seems a fairly harmless use of that sense of power. My friend from HS commited acts of vandalism, tried to evade the police and then tried to fight them off. If you or I hit a cop we would probably go to prison. He got probation, a court appointed councilor and put back on his meds.

I wouldn't dispute that.

However, you may be maligning her a bit by assuming she wants to "hide her past". Yes, she's clearly embarrassed about it now, but the very fact that she asked whether she should tell a future boyfriend about it or not indicates some desire on her part to be open and honest.

The problem again seems to be more with some of the women on the forum who were asserting that her past is not the business of a future boyfriend.

It's also important, that she be open about being bi-polar with men in her future, at least in the context of a LTR.

Easy brother, I'm not defending her (I ain't no white knight). I'm just trying to keep our conversations accurate and objective. I place a high priority on maintaining my personal credibility. I'm not going to ignore relevant facts in a debate in a public forum just because they are inconvenient to our shared perspective.

The hypocrisy of slutting it up with some guys, while making others wait. A hypocrisy which is especially infuriating when the men they slut it up for are assholes they claim to hate, and the men they make wait are nice guys they claim to want. Trust me brother, you are preaching to the choir with me.

The reason I keep trying to focus the conversation on the fact that this girl was mentally ill, and that our critique should be focused on the women cheering her on, is because that's the most fucked-up thing about this. This girl engaged in a bout of extreme promiscuity as a result of her illness. She recognized her behavior was aberrant and undesirable after her manic episode passed. Yet there were women on that forum, cheering on her aberrant behavior.

They weren't supporting her. They were supporting her disease. They were applauding literally crazy behavior. Frankly, that to me is far more damning than just the standard sexual hypocrisy we've seen on other occasions. It's one thing to try to rationalize and excuse hypocritical behavior. It's quite another to try to rationalize and excuse mentally aberrant behavior. It's like a sexualized version of this.

yes i agree with this. even if you have no problem with promiscuity, she does. but instead of acknowledging that and helping her cope and move farward she is advised to continue doing it and to lie to her future partners.
