Notice how this article immediately and automatically equates domestic violence and masculinity.

It starts out with stories of men who murdered their wives, then asks whether masculinity is bad, then launches into talk about domestic violence.

In the eyes of the other side, masculinity, domestic violence, and murdering women are all the same thing. It's just a given to them that men who are masculine hurt women.

The thing is, most of the time, it's the non masculine men who flip out and kill women. Buff, confident, socially skilled, successful manly men have no problem getting laid, in or out of a relationship or marriage. They're well-adjusted, have friends, and girls want them.

It's the ugly, timid, socially awkward, unsuccessful, non-masculine men who develop mental illness and flip out and shoot women.

However, women recognize, at least unconsciously, that masculine men have power over them. Masculine men are attractive and can replace them with other women. Masculine men can get away with putting themselves first, being assholes, using women for sex, and so on, and women will put up with it. And if they don't, the men just have sex with someone else.

Women hate the feeling of someone having power over them. They lump all of that together into one thing. If you're masculine enough to use a woman for sex and act however you want, that's the same feeling women get if you rape her or shoot her or beat her up. That intense feeling of powerlessness and helplessness. It's all the same to women.

Masculine men just don't beat women.

There's absolutely no point. We have nothing to prove, no anger that turns to rage as men actually control their fucking emotions, we know to treat women as little cute 5 year olds that run around and have tea parties under the shade of our sheltering oak branches, no need to use physical force because doing so is laughable, and when it comes down to it we're willing to just walk the fuck away if the crazy gets crazy because at that point it's been demonstrated to you that the situation is untenable. Having frame, having mastery, being a man who holds himself responsible and accountable for not just his own actions but all things that fall under his purview. Men eject when too much shit hits the fan. Bye, Felicia.

Author completely missed the entire issue. Not just missed, got it completely wrong. If we had more masculinity then domestic violence would diminish.

1) This starts off with a bunch of anecdotal evidence, which anyone knows isn't statistically relevant. I could list any number of one-off incidents in which women did crazy, violent shit, but that doesn't mean women are dangerous or that femininity is a terrorist ideology.

2) She ignores what might have driven these particular men--or men in general--to commit acts of violence. A guy could lose his job, have his wife/gf cheat on him, have clinical depression and/or anxiety, etc. and that could be the catalyst that provokes his actions. That doesn't condone them of course, but to lay the cause of any crime committed by a male at the feet of masculinity is to ignore every other possible factor. Additionally, society puts a lot more pressure on men to be successful in life than women--no one blames a woman who's poor. They usually help her or she has access to assistance from elsewhere, whether that's in the form of alimony, child care, parents, the govt., etc.

Men? No thanks--that guy's a fucking loser.

3) The author also ignores what women do to each other--especially young women--which is that they bully the shit out of each other, slut shame, and do everything they possibly can to ostracize each other as a form of the female mating strategy. In recent years this has caused a near 70% increase in suicide by women under 25 (thank you social media). Is femininity a terrorist ideology then?

4) The irony of feminism is that it basically tells women to act like men--don't have kids, don't be caring/compassionate (be stoic), put your career ahead of family, be assertive and dominant, etc. If masculinity is toxic, why do women embrace so many of its characteristics?

5) How many men commit suicide either because they are lonely and cannot find a woman who wants to be with them, or because a woman they were with treated them like shit, either taking them to the cleaners via divorce or some other means, or cheating on them? Anthony Bourdain comes to mind, but the number of men who commit suicide each year is about 4 times higher than women, which means that in the US, a little less than 40,000 men kill themselves a year. In comparison, a little over 1,000 women are killed by a domestic partner per year.

So at the very least, men are far more lethal to themselves than to women, and again, saying the cause is masculinity alone is to ignore every other possible factor that could cause a man to take his own life.

I'm so fucking tired of this bullshit--anyone who says there isn't a war against men isn't paying attention.

Men who victimize those weaker than them are not masculine at all. Anyone who abuses women, children or a significantly smaller man is a weak minded beta male for several reasons, but the main reason is not maintaining frame. If someone beats a woman they have no frame. If they hurt a child they have no frame. And if they pick on or start fights with weaker men they have no frame. Lifting and become stronger serves two main purposes: becoming more attractive and getting stronger. A real natural alpha would never use his strength to hurt or pick on someone weaker than him. If anything a real alpha would use that strength to protect people who a smaller and weaker or protect himself if attacked.

Articles like this that continue to belittle masculinity without even knowing what masculinity is further proof that feminism has gone awry. And when I read that some woman endured “years of abuse” and was eventually killed makes me sick. Women who stay with a man that abuses them and never sends him off to jail where he belongs is only making the problem worse.
