They might be highly desirable and good at their role in the short term, but you're going to think twice before giving them your trust and commitment.

Guys with families can be assumed to live a simpler, more stable life.

Single guy here, and author of the CorporateLand series. For those of you working in CorporateLand, it’s on the sidebar.

So while married guys are theoretically more stable there are a few things to think through.

A. Try being good at your job. Ex. I’m single, I play in a band and I plow a lot of young tail. That has never been a hindrance at work. A lot of the married guys admire me actually. Ex. Years ago I was sitting at lunch with som older guys and talking abt what we had done that weekend. Family BBQs, yard work, honey do lists. I was the last guy to go: ”I drove my gf up to Boston for here senior year.”. It got quiet and then a 60 year old guy asked, ”What’s it like?” by which he meant nailing young cooch, which his wife hadn’t been in 35 years.

B. Married guys are only “stable” until their wives divorce rape them. Then they all turn into shit shows. That has a 53% chance of happening.

C. If the other option is a woman, guys in the C suite know that vaginas = DRAMA. As between me and my married female co-worker, I’m getting the nod. She is All Drama, All the Time.

D. It helps if they like you. In addition to being good at your job, it’s easier for the C suite to show you love if they like you, i.e. if you are High Speed, Low Drag.

TL;DR married men are valuable because they need reliability. Prove that you are reliable

This turned into a massive wall of text because I'm at a Cafe between flights and this is 100% my wheelhouse.

There are a few people who you don't give vital roles in your organisation

Newly wed women, nearly wed women, promiscuous women, gay men, openly promiscuous straight men.

There are differing reasons why, by they all come down to risk and reliability. All of these people are at more risk of leaving due to personal circumstances, emotional responses to pressure, or causing your business damage.

So what do you, a promiscuous, successful, single bachelor do? Prove your worth and reliability.

I am single, attractive, successful with women. My work place sees me as the rock of Gibraltar. Unfaltering, unwavering, permanent and reliable. I do not talk about women at work. Everyone knows I do well, because they see women approach me and give me numbers at industry events. They see this, and importantly, they see me accept it and move on with my business. They see that I'm more interested in our success than pussy.

The reason a married man is valuable is because he can't afford to take risks. He can't risk moving to a less reliable job. He can't push and make waves for fear of putting his family out on the street.

The reason a reliable single bloke is valuable is because he CAN afford risks. Who's going to make that last minute trip across the country to woo a new client without batting an eyelid? The single bloke! He most certainly has a date Friday night, but as he's said before, that's nothing that can't be rescheduled. Who is going to step out of his comfort zone and risk it all on a new part of the business. The single guy, if it fails and he's out on his arse, he knows he can recover. He takes the risk AWAY from your organisation.

Don't EVER make the mistake of leveraging another job offer for a raise or promotion. You've just proven that you'd be willing to leave for money. You leverage you, your skills, your results, the organisation's position in the industry, the current industry trend, and the market. If you can find enough reason in those alone for a raise, you don't deserve a raise.

Don't fuck women at/from work. Don't fuck women known by people at work. Don't fuck women near your work. Flirt with all of the above, but within reason. I flirt with everyone. Every time we go to an event, I am part of the show. I charm men and women alike. I make sure there are a few pretty young hopefuls that are holding themselves close, feed them a wink and a smile while talking to others. It's important that everyone in any of those rooms knows that I have my pick of anything there. If I want a bloke to grab a drink with, the CEO of the biggest organisation there will feed his wife some excuse to grab a whisky with Turing. If I wanted someone to bring back to the hotel, there's a dozen pretty young graduates waiting in line. If I choose to take your client from you, it's at my whim.

I game EVERYONE and that's why I'm safe. I'm not hitting on that 18 year old waitress, I'm being as jovial with her as I am with the event manager, with the CEO, with my own managing director. I'm fun, smart, and everyone smiles when they're talking to me. I'm a safe.

Time with managers. You're single, you have no hangups. If there is a chance to have a beer with someone who knows something. You have NO excuse not to go. Show that you're a sponge. The more I hit up my directors or directors of other companies for advice while we're out drinking, the more they respect me. What kind of loser would I be if I had 1 on 1 time with a bloke with that level of success and I didn't take the chance to get advice. Real advice.

In short. Play to your strengths. You can do things other can't. You know how to make people happy. And importantly, you're never going to risk your future success because of something so fleeting as good pussy.

Married guy with kids: Good: Dependable ploughorse Bad: Soccer games, graduation, kid's got a fever yadda yadda

The solution? Being a hybrid class

Boss: So are you single or married You: I've been in a LTR for a while, need to save up that nest egg so we can get married in the next couple of years

Why not just lie and say you have a wife/kid? Seems like you get away with A LOT when people know you have a family to take care of.

Ex. I need to leave early because my kid has a dentist appointment. Etc

Marriage is an important part of getting ahead.. That said there’s a huge difference in what’s socially acceptable in the workplace these days. For a CIS genders male in Corporatville sometimes it’s advantageous to play to the stereotype. Depends on the preferences of The Shotcallers.

This one isn't programming; it's incentives.

Once a guy has a family, he becomes risk-adverse. He's less likely to job-hop, less likely to leave and start a business. He wants work to be stable and predictable, so he can fill his other role as leader of the family.

When you're single, there's no other role: it's just you. You can do whatever the fuck you want, and you're only hurting yourself. You might quit your job, go run a startup out of your garage. It's high-risk, high-reward... but screw it; you're young, and the potential payoff is big.

That sort of wanderlust makes a great founder, but a terrible employee. When a trusted employee leaves the company, it's a huge loss. Everything gets shifted back onto the boss to reassign, which sucks his attention away from growing key metrics. It's a clusterfuck with potential ripple effects through the entire organization. Hiring a married guy helps to mitigate that risk.
