Ugh. Don't go about it this way. "Strategic" is just another word for manipulative. You've been together for three months. That's long enough to have a conversation about what this means. It's okay to tell him "So, I'm not seeing anyone but you these days. I really like being with you, but I'd like to make sure we're on the same page."

Be direct, before he drops you for losing interest, because I guarantee that's how your game playing is coming across.

Husband is Army. Depending on their MOS, they already have enough on their plates. A distracted soldier can equal a dead soldier in various trainings or a deployment.

Just be upfront. When my husband and I first started dating(not official) I simply told him," I don't want to play games or have either of us be unsure on where this is going. I want to see where this goes and I want to be committed to you. Where do you stand, honestly?"

Needless to say, we've been together 12 years now, married 10.

Don't play games. Just be upfront about where you're at and what you need. If he isn't there with you, then mutually agree to step back.

One thing I've been starting to do is pull away ever so slightly, make him a little nervous - not hard to get, mind you, but just less available.

Games. In this case, "Dread Game". This can seriously backfire. You want to trigger him to want to be with you more, not to test him to see if he will be jealous of you spending time elsewhere. What you think will inspire interest will more likely either drive him away because he thinks you aren't serious, or will have the effects of a Shit Test - either way you lose.

Don't do this.

Be awesome and feminine. Read Secrets of Fascinating Womanhood. Make him WANT you. Not fear losing you.

He's not going to interpret you having plans one Saturday as pulling back and chase you because of that. You've already given this guy your whole weekend... he's going to interpret your plans as you having a life, which he expects you to have anyways.

Done early on, having friends and activities outside a budding relationship signals abundance and sets boundaries on your availability. At this stage, the man will respond positively to this.

Now that you're 3 months into this relationship, missing your standing plans on Saturday is nbd because you have Friday together too. (Another way to think about it: you're already giving him your entire weekend without knowing whether or not he's committed to you).

Men are not great with "small subtle things". If you want more commitment then you're going to have to communicate with words. (Other commenters have offered advice about what to say).
