Out of all the girls you linked i would rate maybe one of them a 9. It all depends on personal preference, i have a fetish for asses so if a girl has a nice ass i'd rate her 8 or above.

How does the popularity of a girl or her character(being classy and what not) have to do with her rating? Unless you're looking for more then a fuck buddy it shouldn't.

This scale isn't so good, because between 5 and 7 there is a huge amount of the girls. The other attributes you picked felt arbitrary to me.

First of all a good scale should be from 1 to 7, that's what scientific researchers usually use for a scale of this kind (Take for example personality questionnaires). 7 is the best level of granularity for most of the cases and it has a clear median (4). something that 0-10 scale doesn't have.

1 - You wouldn't have sex with her ever. (Old, Terrible physical problems etc...)

2 - Ugly but not disgusting, Maybe very obese or have bad teeth.

3 - You wouldn't brag her around your friends, but you would probably have sex with her.

4 - Average Girl

5- Good looking girl, Isn't stunning or amazing - But gets attention.

6 - Really beautiful girl, Someone who is known for her beauty among people who know her.

7 - Someone who makes money out of her looks usually.

The 1-10 rating system has to be evaluated based on the same standard as the "duty of care" in a malpractice cause of action. You have to take into account the time and place. A small town doctor in a private practice can't be held to the same standard as the department chair of a major teaching university in a giant city. Just like a doctor performing emergency surgery on a trauma patient can't be held to the same standard as a doctor performing elective surgery that's been scheduled for months.

If any of you have been to Boston or Pittsburgh, you know what I mean. You can't judge the girls in Boston or Pittsburgh by the same standards as you would judge the girls in NYC, Miami, or Los Angeles. Also the time of day affects the ranking. A girl who is a 7 at 12:30 AM under the soft light of the club, might be a 3 at 12:30 PM under the harsh light of the honest Sun.

So, I think when describing a girl, you really have to tell us where you are, and what time of day the rating was made. Otherwise, the ranking system is just to imprecise.

Agree and amplify here. It should be reduced even more.

Thing is, when guys talk about girls they talk about how much they are 'fuckable' to them at the moment. So their grades are relative to the environment, state of mind, etc. For example, a guy in a bar is gonna think that girl is a "HB8" because he can't take his eyes of her -or she's the most beautiful girl he's seen in weeks.

With my friends we've come up with the following scale:

10: they don't exist (there is no such thing as perfection in a girl, they always tiny flaws they hide).

9: the girls listed in OP's post

8: think Scarlett Johannson or Jessica Biel. The first one seems to be pretty small and average-looking without the makeup (see Lost in Translation), the second one is kind of flat-chested. Still, I'd be stoked to hook up with them. Anyway 8s and 9s live in another world, they go out in private circles, you've never seen them.

7: Probably the hottest girl you've ever met in real life. Think about it. You haven't fucked that girl.

6: The hottest girl in your local club. Strippers. Prom queens. Zooey Deschanel. Rachel from friends (when she was cute).

5: Cute girl, lacks in some department.

4: average plain jane.

3: Old/fat

2: Obese/fugly

1: you'd rather have sex with your dad

Basically, I consider my hottest girlfriends a 6+, and they make my friends drool in envy. If you guys regularly pull 8s you live in a world of fantasy and you don't realize that your goals are too low, as well as your self-respect.

Thinking like that helps me know that there is always much more that I haven't attained yet, and way hotter girls.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your examples are useless because everybody will rate 9 or 10 differently based on certain characteristics.

What matters is how you feel a girl rates in SMV within the context of your own life. If I'm dating a girl who's a 9 in my own eyes, I will exude more confidence with her on my arm than say, a 7.

Here is my scale that is based on the girl's relation to your SMV, rather than objective characteristics:

10 - Girls so hot you have no chance at ever fucking them.
9 - Hottest girl you've made out with/been on a date with, but blew it before you got the bang.
8 - Hottest girl you ever fucked. Girls you are thrilled to be fucking.
7 - Girls you are happy to be fucking.
6 - Girls you are cool with fucking.
5 - Girls you are alright with fucking.
4 - Girls you will fuck to end a long dry spell.
3 - Girls you will fuck when extremely wasted to end a long dry spell
2 and below - will not fuck under any circumstances

I like OP's intention to formalize the scale, but really, nothing is gonna change. You just need to assume when reading field reports that every 8, 9, and 10 is probably a 7 and every 7 is probably a 5. It's like asking people to honestly rate their own SMV -- it's never gonna happen. The temptation to inflate is too high.

Every moron here and real life vastly overrates any bitch who shows even remote interest in them.

Quit coming up with all these autistic catergories and just apply normal distribution ffs. 70% of women fall between 4-6 or whatever and genuine 8+ sluts are exceedingly rare. Men are rated the same. There is no 8/10 guy that posts here.

Also lol at that guy claiming beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Specific facial ratios, amount of sexual dimorphism determines attractiveness.

Almost correct & I almost agree except 9's are used to be supplicated to so as soon as you don't do this & act like she has to earn you, she'll act like it must be true until you break the spell. Women are usually too lazy to do the hard work to really find out who/what you are before she's willing to sleep with you so impressions / emotions serve as a short-circuit, heuristic, a guiding force, and if you / people around you do nothing to dispel the myth, you're gold.

The 1-10 scale is alright and I think it can be used loosely. Lots of the posts set the scale really low. Saying that a 7 is someone who makes money off their looks? Come on, even I know some legit models and after a few weeks of waking up next to her I know it couldn't be able to care so much about her looks. Don't get me wrong, For initial attraction they need to be hot. I've had hot girlfriends and I always think about fucking her not as hot friends. We place so much value on a woman's looks because we can't assume that they have much other intrinsic value.

The entire 1-10 rating system is misleading and unscientific. Its used because it's easy to understand as a quick reference, but has zero value when determining attractiveness on a statistical level.
